I love the island lifestyle; Hawaii provides the best there is to enjoy; outdoor activities such as swimming, snorkeling, hiking, camping, and soaking in sunsets, sunrises, rainbows. Aside from my passion for a healthy lifestyle, I love reading and hearing about the rest of our amazing world, cultures, and lifestyles through my guest's adventures, and when time permits, I love traveling and discovering the world as well. I have three awesome kids that I love spending time with whenever possible; my oldest Stacy, a graduate of Harvard, is an attorney in Washington D.C, 2nd, my second child Kiana did her training in Kona as a Helicopter pilot/instructor while working as the Orchid Fermont's assistant manager, and now working at Mauna Lani Resort as their assistant manager, after seeing the world working as an Activities Director on Holland America cruise line. My youngest is a 20 years old son who's in flight school in Arizona.

Property info

My property is overflowing with tropical shrubberies, trees, and everything in between that I personally grew. I credited Hilo's abundance of rainfall and tempered climate in keeping everything green and lush thus creating an oasis that is appealing to the senses. Due to the strict standard of cleaning and social distancing being practiced now, I have suspended serving breakfast but happily provide fresh tropical fruits, granola, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, and tea and have a tip jar that supports the local farmer's market.

Neighborhood info

I'm lucky that my property is located in the Waiakea Uka District; it's an upscale, safe and cool neighborhood that provides the convenience of town life yet quiet and rural in nature. You definitely need a rental car to get around on the Big Island. Car rentals are available at both Hilo and Kona airports. Occasionally, someone will show up without a car and I'm happy to give them a lift downtown for shopping and such. They usually are just happy to chill on the quiet and peaceful upstairs porch where they get wifi and enjoy the sunrise or kicking back with their drinks in the evening. I've recently added Himalayan Salt lamps to each room for the ambiance and serenity for evening use.
