In 2025 Safe and Amanda decided to change their lives. With their son graduating from high school and joining the Navy, they decided to become innkeepers. As an alum of Notre Dame, Safe wanted to return to South Bend and they found an amazing old mansion. While it needed a lot of love and work, they saw the potential of what it could become. Safe and Amanda are thrilled with their new career and enjoy hosting and cooking together.

Brickhaven Inn & Hotel is situated in the heart of the West Washington Historic District. While Tippecanoe Place next door may be the most famous building on the street, Brickhaven Inn was built by the Cushing family in 1872, 17 years before Clement Studebaker built his home. There are over 50 restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops within a half mile of the inn. If you are in South Bend to visit Notre Dame, Saint Mary's, or Holy Cross, we are just a short drive away. If you are coming in for a gameday, there is a free bus from downtown to campus that picks up and drops off from just 2.5 blocks away. If you haven't been to downtown South Bend in a while, things are changing and there are new businesses and great restaurants popping up all over as well as entertainment venues like the Morris Performing Arts Center and Four Winds Field - come check it out!
