Points of interest: -Chilkoot Lake is 8 miles up Lutak Road for fishing and bear viewing. -Eagle viewing everywhere and the Eagle Preserve is 20 minutes away up the Haines Highway. -Porcupine Bridge is at 26 mile and you can cross over to explore the area where "Gold Rush-Discovery was filmed at the Nugget mine. -If the timing is right, get fresh crab, halibut, coon shrimp, and salmon from the local fishermen in the boat harbor. The Borough has established quite hours between 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for residential lodging. No smoking anywhere on the property.

I've hiked the West Highland Way, and the Camino Frances. In 2025, I hiked the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Imperial Route, parts of the Kohechi, Isiji, and Ohechi, visiting the 3 sacred temples.
