Relax in the embrace of the Lemon Tree Lanai, a detached unit featuring a long, sunlit, screened lanai with seating area, dining area, and kitchenette. Double doors open into a small living room, bedroom, and private bath. Kitchenette includes ¾-size fridge, cook top, microwave, and toaster oven, along with coffee maker and electric kettle. China dishes, glassware, cutlery and most kitchen tools are provided, along with coffee, creamer, teas, sugar, and basic cooking needs. Property sits in a tranquil oasis of old-growth ‘ōhi‘a rainforest forest.

I am a Hawai‘i specialist from the University of Hawai‘i and former senior scholar at the Smithsonian Institution. I can provide information on sites, local history, Hawaiian ecosystems, and places to visit. Private tours can also be arranged.

This little pocket of old ‘ōhi‘a forest sits conveniently halfway between Hilo and Volcano and just minutes from the highway. Neighbors are few and not nearby. The tranquility is palpable.
