This retreat home has been lovingly adorned with a blend of vintage finds, Victorian art, and luxurious colors, creating a one-of-a-kind experience. Nestled just a short stroll away from Lockhart's Historic Town Square, our cozy haven is your gateway to a memorable weekend escape, a productive work staycation, or an unforgettable family trip. The greatest compliment we have ever received? That this is the perfect place to write a novel!
We love shopping for vintage treasures all over Texas, making Victorian Lamp Shades (some of them are on display in the house), and reading in every cozy nook we can find or create!
Lockhart holds the distinction of being the BBQ capital of Texas. It also happens to be one of the cutest and most charming little towns in the State. While the legendary BBQ restaurants are not to be missed, this little town has so much more to offer than just smoked meats. If you are looking to explore, take a short walk to the original downtown, Lockhart. With our stunning courthouse dating back to the 1890's at its center, it really is a quintessential small town square, rich in history and ripe with modern amenities such as restaurants, bars and even a little market! Despite its outward appearance of a sleepy little Texas town, Lockhart punches above its weight-class when it comes to festivals and events. From First Friday's, Sip n' Strolls, Court House Nights, to the annual Texas Monthly BBQ Fest there's always something to do in our little town! The Copper Cottage is 18 miles from Texas State University, 20 miles from Circuit Of The Americas, and 22 miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport. And is walking distance from the most iconic BBQ joints in the country... Blacks BBQ, Terry Blacks BBQ, Smitty's BBQ, Kreutz's BBQ, and newly opened Barbs-B-Q. Do a tour about town and try them all! For the real barbecue enthusiasts, the Texas Monthly Annual BBQ Festival is an experience not to be missed, so mark your calendars and book early.
