The story of Cat Ba Sweet Potato. We are a family of four. My husband, a professional chef, worked over 15 years for 3-star or larger hotels in Cat Ba, Hai Phong and Hanoi. He decided to stop work for others and return home to open a small restaurant for himself. As for me, I am a gym teacher at a high school 2km away from home. I love to work with students every day in the morning with sports games and dances. My hobbies are to exchange culture, make new friends around the world, learn new languages and new dishes, and to learn culture…. We decided to open our restaurant and homestay to welcome our friends from all over the world to Cat Ba and to experience the beautiful island with beautiful Vietnamese scenery, customs, fresh air and good food from the sea. We have 2 children, our 6-year-old daughter, cute and gentle, and 3-year-old son, full of energy and extremely mischievous. Here at Cat Ba Sweet Potato, we don’t just want to make you feel comfortable, we want to make you feel as if you’ve come home to Cat Ba Island. Home cooked meals on a beautiful island, and a caring family will welcome you home every night of your stay.

A short drive south from our homestay, will take you to the hill-top fortress of Cannon Fort. Nearly 200m above sea level, Cannon Fort offers a stunning panorama of all of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay, observe the open air sails, fishing villages and the daily life of fishermen. Exploring North from our location, you will enjoy riding along the majestic mountains on the main road, cutting through the heart of the Cat Ba National Preserve. Along this road you can stop at famous caves and hiking trails: Quan Y Cave (a wartime anti-American resistance hospital), Trung Trang Cave (with hundreds of thousands of stalactites glittering) and many more. There are thousands of different species here, and with hundreds of rare and precious animals you wont have to look long before you catch a glimpse of somethig you’ll never forget. After more than an hour of rock climbing forest you will reach the top of Ngu Lam, nestled between hundreds of beautiful mountain tops, take in the stunning trees, the blue sky, the pure white clouds, and the fresh sea air.
