Aalkies Dream is a comfortable, neat and spacious cottage, with one en-suite bedroom with queen size extra length bed and a spacious openplan living area, offering two extra length single beds, hairdryer, wifi, flat screen tv, aircon, space to work, kitchenette including microwave and induction stove.The cottage is entirely private with dedicated access. The large property offers incredible mountain views with indigenous birds frequenting the garden. A braai lapa is available.The cottage accommodates 4 guests in total. There is one bedroom and features a queen bed and 2 single beds and there is one full bathroom. The cottage is amongst the mountains so that you can get away from the cities hustle and bustle.
Tienie (my hubby) and myself love people and we are so lucky to stay in the most beautifull town in the world, please come and have a look yourself, we enjoy sharing the beauty and wonderful mountain and attractions around us with visitors. You are so welcome to come and stay in Aalkie’s Dream.
Alida’s home is located in Swellendam, Western Cape, South Africa.
Before breakfast you can stroll across the street into a little forest valley that begs to be explored. Pack a backpack with lunch and go hiking on the 2 kilometres hike in the beautiful Marloth Nature Reserve on the mountainside just 2 kilometers from the house. A canopied walk through an indigenous forest takes you within 15 min to a secret mountain pool fed by beautiful streams and waterfalls. On a hot day a dip in the pool refreshes you for the walk back.
The town has most necessary amenities and are within 10 minutes walking distance. There are loads of tourist attractions on offer to experience in and around the town. The surrounding towns are all within an hour's drive which would make Swellendam a great central point from which to explore. The surrounding region, especially places like the Bontebok National Park, the Berry farm, the Drosdy museum, historical church ... a must see.
An ideal retreat. However fleeting or extended your stay, the friendly atmosphere will stay with you long after you’ve left.
