‏My experience at this five-star boutique hotel was wonderful by all standards. ‏The location is great, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the service is extremely professional. ‏I would like to thank the staff for their warm welcome and excellent service. They were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. ‏I highly recommend it and, God willing, I will return to stay there again in the future.

I loved the peaceful feel of being at a farm - a grove of pecan trees to wander in, led by a friendly cat, and a little lemon tree just outside my room. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. At the restaurant, I got the best pecan tart I ever ate. Pomegranate juice for breakfast!

I grew up in Swellendam so this review may be a bit biased. It is an awesome little town with more than its fair share of attractions. A visit to the Drostdy is a must and there are also wonderful hiking trails to explore in the mountains.

Swellendam is great for hikers and history lovers alike. A 30 min drive out of town, the Grootvadersbos Reserve is a must to visit. Besides the museums, the town itself boasts lovely boutiques & restaurants.

If you like hiking then it would be a good base for a couple of days. Unfortunately much of the area was closed after a storm but we still managed to find some beautiful spots to get to. An extra day or two in the area would have been good.

Swellendam is a town full of suprises.

Swellendam is a town full of suprises. The Langeberg Mountains and architecture of the buildings and houses are beautiful. We enjoy the little shops and Country Deli with its fresh baked bread. The Wildebraam Berry estate is also a must do. It was raining a lot during our our stay. We had lunch at Grace +Merci which was excelent .

Beautiful setting with the Marloth Nature Reserve (plenty of hiking trails) in the background. Close to Bontebok National Park and a cute small historical town, clean and safe, with plenty of eateries. (we enjoyed The Republic of Swellendam Restaurant)

Swellendam is a beautiful, historic small town in the Western Cape between Cape Town and the Garden Route. There are lots of restaurants and coffee shops, and some interesting retail outlets both in town and just beyond. (The Cheese Shop has a large variety of local cheeses for all you turophiles out there! Now you know the name for a lover of cheese!) It's the town's setting against a mountain backdrop which provides much of the attraction, and the De Hoop nature reserve a fairly short drive away will take you to a beautiful coastline and interesting flora and fauna. There are other reserves close by too, as well as trails and hikes.

The Hamlet is situated in a beautiful valley just outside of Swellendam. Although it is only a few minutes away from the town, it doesn’t feel that way with horses, cows, peacocks, and little chickens roaming around the farm. The unit was well-equipped and clearly well cared for. We especially enjoyed the wood-fired hot tub outside; it was a nice touch that the fire was already going when we checked in in the afternoon. These thoughtful details contributed to a lovely stay!

Nice house in Swellendam that offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a well needed washing machine and outside area to dry your clothes. Unfortunately, we only stayed for a stop-over but the house is excellent to explore the Swellendam area for several days. The smallest NP in South Africa, Bontebok NP, is only a few minutes away. Restaurants are in walking distance, we felt safe to walk there in the evening.

Beautiful farm, friendly waitresses and good country food in beautiful restaurant with reasonable prices. Lovely verandah outside room with water feature which helped drown out traffic noise. Pinotage is excellent. Pool area is nice to relax under but staff don't always put the cushions out.

Stunning farm location. Friendly farm staff who are happy to let you watch the cows being milked. Close enough for a short drive to town to stock up on groceries or a visit to a restaurant. Comfortable self catering with everything needed to cook etc
