Our best stay along the Garden Route. Amazing country lodge off the beaten track. Staff were beyond wonderful and kind. We were greeted with sparkling wine, given a tour of the beautiful lodge, fed sumptuously. Beautiful bar. Book their dinner in advance, it's worth it.

Plettenberg Bay is a sophisticated beach town. so much to do within short distances; beach walks, nature reserves, boat trips, whale watching, kayaking, fabulous restaurants, lovely boutique shopping and art galleries. climate is moderate, and the sea is warm and the main beach has official Shark Spotters, and life guards (during season) on most beaches.

Nice coastal town located near shopping centre's and outdoor family activities such as the beach, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Elephant Sanctuary and Jukani Lion Park. Worth a visit to explore quality time as a family while still be located near shops.

We accidentally ended up staying the night in Plettenberg...

We accidentally ended up staying the night in Plettenberg Bay because we wanted to go swimming with the Seals. After meeting some locals at Barrington's brewery the night before, they recomended us to go hiking in the Robberg Nature Reserve, which was the best advice we could have gotten; one of the most beautiful but also challenging hikes we have done in SA. We at least millions of seals dolphins; unfortunately, no sharks, but this is apparently very common to see!

Robberg Nature Reserve is stunning and definitely worth a visit. Take a backpack with food and have a picnic on the stunning beach. A recommendation for eating out is Enrico's Italian Restaurant overlooking the beach. In case you are heading inland towards the N9, beware that the R339 and R340 are gravel roads for most parts (yet in good condition).

Vanessa and all staff were very efficient, pleasant and helpful. Venessa appeared immediately we arrived. Free, secure parking. Fantastic views of the bay, nice (smallish) pool, sunbeds, lovely seating areas indoor and outdoor. Room was very well appointed with everything one could need including a great hairdryer and large bed. Only thing we could have done with was a magnifying mirror with light for make-up. They got vegan items in for our breakfast. Breakfast had a good selection of fresh foods and juices. Little decanters of local 'Sherry' is a nice touch. Helpful booklet of amenities and things to do. Excellent vegan menu for dinner at The Plettenburg Hotel.

The staff was amazing, we made it here during a great storm & weather warning and the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable right away. We only noticed, how bad the situation was, when we left again, saw all the fallen trees and heard from other hotels that they didn't have power for three days. Meanwhile we blissfully enjoyed Hunter's Country House, so thank you!

Superb location, with a short walk to bars, cafes & restaurants and the beach is only a 10 minute walk down the hill. The decor of the hotel was of high standard and had a great look. I loved that there was a bar and coffee shop at the front of the property. Great place, staff were friendly and we couldn't have asked for much more.

The Hotel is basically located on the beach which is very convenient. It has a nice restaurant - operated by 'n 3rd party. The room was slightly small relative to the bathroom (almost the same size). There was a nice large balcony, but the sun made it impossible to utilize for 90% of the day.
