AfriCamps at Kam’Bati is set within the popular Kam’Bati River Resort, just 20 km west of Swellendam in the Western Cape. Located on an Overberg farm where the Sonderend and Breede Rivers meet, this scenic destination offers a relaxed escape with plenty to do for the whole family. The property is home to 13 AfriCamps boutique glamping tents, each thoughtfully positioned to make the most of the natural surroundings. Five tents overlook a peaceful wetland filled with birdlife, four are set alongside a small farm dam, and the remaining four are slightly elevated with views across the resort and surrounding farmland. Each tent features a private outdoor wood-fired hot tub, perfect for unwinding while listening to birdsong or soaking under the stars. Kam’Bati River Resort is well known for its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and variety of outdoor activities. Guests can enjoy fishing along the Breede River, a round of mini-golf, or cycling along quiet farm roads. Children will love the rope swing into the river, three swimming pools with slides, and the playground.

Swellendam is not only the largest youngberry growing area in the world, but is also bursting with heritage, culture & architecture. Visit the famous open-air Drostdy Museum or enjoy the view of the Dutch reformed church, one the best-known historical buildings of town. Perhaps you feel more like an exciting river rafting tour along the Breede River. On the fringe of the town you will find the Bontebok National Park and the Marloth Nature Reserve; nature parks that provide various possibilities for hiking, horse riding, and bird watching. Swellendam is also well known for its vibrant food culture, with plenty of restaurants offering everything from traditional farmers food to coffee shops serving delectable cakes and fine-dining experiences. Lying at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, Swellendam is the perfect base from which to explore the Overberg Region and the surrounding wine lands.
