Cape Dutch Stay is the result of years of careful planning, hard work and a love for quality living close to nature. What was once an overgrown piece of undeveloped land was transformed by us into the peaceful property you see today. The apartments were personally designed and built by us, combining my wife Mana’s eye for interior design with my experience as a building contractor over the past 30 years. Every apartment has its own private enclosed garden, spacious braai area and outdoor fire pit to enjoy relaxed evenings under the stars. The property is fully off-grid with modern solar power systems, a solar-powered borehole and rainwater collection, meaning guests are not affected by load shedding or water shortages. Our goal has always been to create a peaceful, comfortable and beautifully maintained space where guests can truly relax and feel at home.

We are a Dutch family who emigrated from The Netherlands to South Africa in 2011. We love hosting guests and sharing the peaceful lifestyle and natural beauty of the Garden Route. As a family we value quality, privacy, thoughtful design and a warm atmosphere, and we tried to bring those elements into every part of the apartments. We enjoy meeting people from different places and helping guests discover the area, whether they are looking for relaxation, nature, beaches, outdoor activities or simply a quiet escape from busy city life. Cape Dutch Stay is situated in the peaceful green belt area of Sedgefield along South Africa’s famous Garden Route, surrounded by nature, mountains and open countryside. The property borders the Ruigtevlei area and is only minutes away from beautiful river swimming spots, hiking opportunities and quiet natural surroundings. Sedgefield town is approximately 7 minutes away, while several beaches and the Indian Ocean are only about 10 minutes from the property. Knysna can be reached within 20 minutes and George within approximately 35 minutes, making this a perfect central base from which to explore the Garden Route. Whether you would like to relax, explore nature, enjoy outdoor activities or visit the many attractions nearby, the area offers something for everyone.
