This majestic 1865 building in the very centre of town, has a long history and many past lives - from a general dealer's trading store, to a tobacco factory, to a newspaper office, to a boarding house, to a photographer's studio, to a gallery and restaurant. The artist-couple who've renovated this building have tried to honour each part of this history. From the indigenous garden in the front to the local artwork on the walls, we love sharing what makes Prince Albert special. Situated directly across from the museum and the visistor's hub, right next door to the gallery, and within walking distance to both restaurants and walking trails, you'll find this spot as central as you can get. Hendry's coffee shop on the stoep downstairs is open most days and serves coffee and delicious artisan patisserie. Balcony rooms enjoy sweeping views of the Swartberg mountains, and spectacular sunrises and moon rises. Garden rooms open onto the cool back garden, each with their own secluded stoep. In summer the rooms are cooled by a fan or evaporative cooler, and in winter rooms have heaters and electric blankets. All rooms are fitted with high quality natural fibre bedlinen.
