Perfect spot for a family get together This beautiful 5 Bedrooms 4.5 Bathrooms, self-catering, double story waterfront holiday house, with outdoor and indoor braai leading to the large, well equipped kitchen, makes this house perfect for a family get together. Sleeping 10 adults with additional children sharing, it has enough space to spend quality time in a relaxing atmosphere. Add to this a sparkling pool and you are set for the perfect getaway. Each room has a view of the waterways of Port Owen, with a private jetty and launch site close by, makes the Berg river accessible in minutes. The Berg River is perfect for bird watching, fishing or water sports, making this the perfect getaway spot for all tastes.
We have a passion for Port Owen and want to share that with holiday makers - we know what it takes to ensure a relaxing time and continually improve the homes to ensure guests are able to relax and enjoy the time at our house. We are there to ensure guests are happy at all times.
Port Owen is in the town of Velddrif, 145 km from Cape Town. Centrally located to many West Coast attractions: 36 km from Langebaan , 27 km from Paternoster and 22 km from Dwarskersbos. The Port Owen Marina Yacht Basin is host to many resident boats and is surrounded on three sides by the Great Berg River. The Port Owen Yacht Club is one kilometer from the harbor mouth where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean at St. Helena Bay. This bay, the largest on the West Coast of Africa, offers the finest sailing conditions on the South African coastline due to its sheltered nature and the prevailing summer southeast trade winds. Adjacent to the fishing harbor of Laaiplek and surrounded by salt marsh,the area is a great place to enjoy fishing, kayaking and watersports. Free public boat launch just a few blocks away and jetty space available! Enjoy long walks around the Port Owen Marina Basin. Make time for shell collecting on the beautiful Laaiplek beach or lunch at one of the fresh fish & chips restaurants just a few kilometers drive. The area is renowned for its bird life with over 350 different sea, land and river birds that can be found in the area.
