Haus Giotto is a home away from home. Gina or Otto is always available to give you further information about the area or even about other areas. Should you want it, we would even help you plan your days so that you will experience as much as is possible. We also enjoy taking you around whether by car or on a walk and explain whatever interests you. All in all: we enjoy our guests!
We welcome you whole heartedly and wish you a wonderful stay with us. We are open to all the questions you have about our area and hope we can answer them all. Gina was a teacher all her life, so she loves sharing her interest in the environment, her country and its people.
De Kelders is a residential area with at least 50% of the residents being retired. There are no shops here. You would have to drive three to four km into Gansbaai to do some shopping. This makes the area very special as you are away from the buzz of city life. Taking it easy is top of the list. Going for a walk on the Cliff Path, you will encounter Fynbos, one of the six floral kingdoms of the world and 70% of these plants being unique to the southwestern Cape, not to be found anywhere else in the world. You will also find caves and interesting rock formations all along the coastline. There is a wonderful beach within walking distance and rock pools within minutes from the house.
