Klaasvoogds Loft is a charming luxurious B&B designed and built by the owners in the Cape Georgian style. It is totally of the grid, solar powered and with gravity fed crystal clear fountain water. The main building has four en-suite bedrooms (17m2) on the first floor and a dining/sitting room (75m2) on the ground floor. There are stunning mountain views, with the Langeberg to the North and the Riviersonderend mountains to the South and orchard and vineyard views from all windows. In winter lounge around on comfortable armchairs and sofas in front of a cosy Mórso wood burning stove. Timber floors with bespoke timber shutters all round and furnished with old Cape cottage furniture. Timber decking, green lawns, flowers, shady trees and a pool makes for lovely cool summer relaxation. Rent out the full facility for anniversaries, birthdays, business getaways and the like. The lounge, dining room and disabled toilet are wheelchair accessible from the parking area. The utilities building, forming a lovely courtyard with the main building, has a kitchen, disabled toilet, guest kitchen (available to guests if all 4 rooms taken) laundry, staff facilities and battery room.

I like good food and wine, cycling, walking, reading and travelling. I do some cooking and make a barrel or two of wine for family, friends and myself.

The Klaasvoogds valley must be one the Western Cape's best kept secrets, lying in the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain range to the North and the more distant Riviersonderend Mountains to the South. An area of predominantly small farms with vineyards, fruit orchards, citrus groves, olives, lavender, cattle, sheep and horses. Quiet country roads ideal for walking and cycling, but due to the exceptional scenic beauty also lots of small holiday stays, restaurants and wineries. The sun sets and sunrise are exceptionally beautiful with reflection off either mountain range in hues of soft pinks and blues. Monet, always looking for the perfect light quality would have found it here. Close to Robertson town for all amenities and beautiful heritage villages like Montagu, Mcgregor and Swellendam packed with excellent examples of local Cape architecture, great restaurants, art galleries, etc
