Company info

I love being in contact with our visitors and talking about the country and its people. Whilst I was born in Kiel, Germany, I did grow up in South Africa. I am passionate about the sights, sounds and tastes of the country especially the areas around the Garden Route and Klein Karoo. I shall gladly help you organize your day trip, show you the most beautiful hiking trails, point out the amazing wine estates sights or book a table in a restaurant for an excellent dinner. Don't forget, we are near the most southern tip of Africa. What a photo opportunity! I have loved riding my motorcycles or driving my car or 4X4 to beautiful spots. I enjoy good food and have in the past, as a visitor to the town, always found myself spoilt with quality and variety. I love my wine and exploring the wine estates in the area. This is an adventure of discovering new places and friendly people. This has attracted me Swellendam and the Klein Karoo. Come share my passion.

Property info

I fell in love with Swellendam and the area while touring with family, friends and by motorcycle. The guesthouse is decorated in an African style to offer our Guests a warm and friendly atmosphere. I want the guests to enjoy what I have appreciated myself during my extensive travels. Feel free to contact me about what this area has to offer. Its more than just a one night's rest. So much to see, do, taste and experience.

Neighborhood info

We have the nearby Robertson Valley and R62 wine estates to explore and discover. My favorite wines come from this region. You may, like myself, uncover a new small little known estate. There are mountain bike events held regularly as the area lends itself to riding. I have mentioned motorbiking. The Breede River and its river mouth are well known for fishing. Hiking and birding are well catered for. Bontebok National Park, Marloth Nature Reserve and De Hoop Nature Reserve are right on your doorstep. Take a trip to Cape Infanta and the Cape Agalhas, the most southerly point of Africa. There you can enjoy the sights of Struisbaai and its harbor. You like mountain passes? I would always recommend a visit to Tradouw Pass with it's beautiful sights. Return via the longer route and pass through Kogmanskloof Pass having enjoyed Barrydale and the Klein Karoo.
