Three private balconies invite outdoor living, including a dedicated entertainment area with built-in braai (traditional South African BBQ). Peaceful nights await in bedrooms dressed with quality linens and carefully selected pillows that ensure blissful night of rest. The master en-suite features a deep soaking tub and shower (complete with our favourite bubble bath), while an additional full wet room and guest toilet offer added convenience.

Hi, I'm Alex. After many years living and working in the UK, I returned home to South Africa and fell for the quiet rhythm of Hermanus: the mountain light, the ocean air, the pace of it. I work remotely in tech, but hospitality is where my actual energy goes. Curating a guest's stay, down to the smallest detail, is genuinely one of my favourite things to do.

Sandbaai is one of Hermanus's quieter coastal suburbs: residential, mountain backed, a five minute drive from the town centre but a world away from the crowds. Fernkloof Nature Reserve and its fynbos trails sit on one side, the water on the other. Hermanus itself is known for some of the best land based whale watching anywhere, June through December, with the Cliff Path tracing the coastline for free. Inland, the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley holds some of South Africa's finest cool climate wine estates, Creation and Bouchard Finlayson among them, all within fifteen minutes. For food and drink, you're close to The Barefoot Cook for breakfast, Origins at The Marine or Bientang's Cave (built into an actual sea cave) for dinner, and Bamboo Beach Club for sundowners. Two supermarkets and a 24 hour convenience store are minutes away by car, and Mr D delivery covers most local restaurants for nights you'd rather stay in. Meraki Sands is an architecturally designed, two bedroom apartment occupying the top floor of a contemporary home in Sandbaai, five minutes from Hermanus town. The Master queen bedroom has its own ensuite, with an additional queen bedroom and further guest bathroom and WC off the open plan living area, which opens onto a private balcony (1 of 4 balconies!)
