I believe holidays should involve fresh air, good coffee, better braais and absolutely no unnecessary rules. Known for being friendly, slightly over-prepared (extra blankets just in case), and always happy to share local tips — or leave you completely alone if that’s your vibe. If something goes wrong, I(actually mu hubby) will fix it. If nothing goes wrong, I will quietly celebrate this personal achievement. Either way, you’re in good hands…

Misty Moon is a peaceful riverside sanctuary where mornings arrive wrapped in mist and evenings glow under soft moonlight. Life slows naturally here — guided by birdsong, shifting light and the quiet rhythm of the river. A place to breathe deeply, rest fully, and reconnect with the beauty of doing very little.

Malgas is wonderfully quiet, refreshingly unpolished and proudly free of traffic lights, shopping malls and any sense of urgency. Neighbours wave, dogs nap in the road, and the Breede River sets the daily pace. Days revolve around river time, sunset spotting and deciding what to braai. Nights are dark, silent and star-filled. It’s the kind of place where nothing is rushed, everything feels familiar, and leaving is always harder than arriving
