You can walk, relax, bring your mountain bike, enjoy the surrounding beauty, you may be lucky to spot a Riverine Rabbit, more endangered than Rhino in SA. 5km off the N1 is perfect if heading North. 15km from Aquila Game Reserve. We have 4 properties plus a camp site at the moment for use by guests. They are: 1. Weavers Landing - Farmhouse sleeping 8 (additional beds for working groups only). Up to 4 people in two rooms is a lesser rate/over 5 or more full rate. WiFi. Signal nearby. Runs from Eskom lines. 2. Honey Badger Cottage - Sleeping up to 4 persons in 2 bedrooms with shared shower room. WiFi. Signal a short walk. Runs from a small solar system for power. Small fridge to accommodate solar system. 3. Jasmine Hideaway - A lovely getaway for 2 people (1 double). WiFI. Signal a short walk. Runs from a shared large solar system. 4. Tiny Home Gypsy Wagon - Located on our camp site with ablution facilities and braai facilities both a few steps away. Please note: No Wifi. No Signal. No Electricity. Just nature. Hot water by wood fired donkey. 5. Campsite - No Wifi. No Signal. No Electricity. Large covered braai area. Ladies and Gents ablution. Hot water by wood fired donkey. Please be sure you have booked the right accommodation for your needs. We highly recommend a higher level vehicle and/or 2x4 to accommodate our roads at present. If you are unable to arrive in a suitable vehicle, but would like us to transport you in please let me know we are happy to transfer you from either our main gate or Engen Garage depending on your vehicle.

As a family we have a major commitment to conservation and wildlife protection. We are also one of the top providers in the country for anti-poaching training courses, having trained hundreds of people over the years from South Africa and Internationally.

People come to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle, but often also like to enjoy the quirkiness of Matjiesfontein or a day visit to Aquila Game Reserve. The reserve is an excellent stop for people travelling to/from Joburg and Cape Town. Consider not rushing through and just stopping a while to enjoy the peace and tranquility before heading back to the city.
