The property is owned by Hannie and Fred Fryer and we live in Alberton, which is in the Gauteng province of South Africa. We have travelled our friendly, beautiful country extensively over decades and the West Coast always stayed with us.

There is something about this unspoilt part of South Africa that leaves a permanent impression on us. We cannot put our finger on exactly what that might be, but most likely, it would be the near perfect combination of true people, sometimes rugged-looking, but always friendly, nature being unmolested, the family-friendly restaurants and pubs and then, the blue, blue sea. The occasional visit by a tortoise, is just so impressive. Cars stopping in the middle of the road, creating a traffic jam (ok, of maybe 4 cars) could make you wonder… Closer inspection would show a tortoise crossing the road, and several people protecting it on its journey, until it is safe. The sunrises and sunsets are just something else. Not always taking your breath away. But when it is one of those renowned events, you might just find the second-by-second changing colour schemes unbelievably beautiful. Like we do. We love sharing all these experiences with people…
