The Sanctuary is a luxury 5 room boutique hotel nestled on the foothills of the majestic Swartberg mountain range on the southern edge of the Great Karoo. A moderate two hour drive from the coastal city of George, the town of Prince Albert has an arid climate and the landscape stark but breathtaking in a unique Karoo way.

The Sanctuary is located in the main street within walking distance of shops, restaurants, art galleries and the town's award winning Fransie Pienaar Museum. We have secure off street parking for cars (and bikes) and a large (10m x 6m) salt water pool. Activities in the town to explore include hiking and rock climbing in the Swartberg Range, yoga classes, cooking classes and horse riding. Be aware, though, that the weather can be unpredictable, so take something warm with you whenever you go into the mountain, even in summer!
