Gumtree Lodge is located on the banks of the Grobbelaars River and features an outdoor pool surrounded by a large wooden terrace. It is 3 minutes’ walk from Oudtshoorn's shops and restaurants. All the air-conditioned rooms at Gumtree have a private bathroom and an outdoor seating area. Each unit has a TV, a mini-bar, and tea and coffee making facilities. Most of the room have large windows offering with panoramic nature views. The complimentary breakfast offers local products such as yogurts, cheeses, cold meats, plus hot food prepared upon request, and home-baked bread. Guests can make use of the barbecue facilities and enjoy grilled delicacies such as boerewoers. Local wines and beers are available at the bar. The Gumtree Lodge’s staff can help organize visits to the ostrich farm, excursions to Swartberg Pass and wine tours in the area surrounding Oudtshoorn.

Gumtree GH is located on a riverbank with a view of the Swartberg Mountains in the distance. We are in the centre of town, only a 4 minute walk from the nearest restaurants. We offer plenty of space, but with the convenience of being located within walking distance of restaurants and town attractions.
Gerry and Alta took over ownership at Gumtree Guest House in February 2023 . Gerry comes from a marketing background and Alta is a Radiographer specialising in MRI and CT scans. They both have travelled South Africa extensively and love to share travel experiences with guests. Guests at Gumtree have the convenience of being in the centre of town, but have a sense of space from the property with views over the river towards the mountains. There are many places to relax in the mature garden, at the pool, or in the pub.
Oudtshoorn is the largest town in the Klein (Little) Karoo but it retains a small town feel where people are friendly and eager to assist. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful with the highlight being Swartberg Pass and Meiringspoort which has spectacular rock formations.
