Whale Tale has one of the best seafront positions for watching whales in De Kelders. The view across Walker Bay is spectacular and the close proximity to the sea means you have closeup sightings of whales & dolphins and can hear them throughout the day and night. There are very few places in the world where one is fortunate to experience this. The apartment is well furnished, fully equipped and allows our guest to relax and enjoy the ambience. The neighbourhood is tranquil and nature is right on your doorstep.
A Big Welcome to our guests booking into Whale Tale. We, (Tim and Lesley) are intrepid global travellers and enjoying meeting people from all corners of the world. We love our country, the area we live in and are eager to share our knowledge of both, with our guests. We are keen naturalists and enjoy hiking, mountain biking and birding.
De Kelders is a tranquil and peaceful suburb of Gansbaai. It is best positioned for easy access to the Caves and stunning beaches of De Plaat and Walker Bay Nature Reserve. There are some top end restaurants within a easy walking distance from Whale Tale. There is no light pollution and as a result the evening star gazing is exceptional. Residents and visitors can be seen jogging, cycling and walking their dogs along the sea frontage or just enjoying the amazing vista.
