It’s been 20 years since visiting the area.

It’s been 20 years since visiting the area. Beaches in the park are wonderful. Beach at entrance to Manuel Antonio, not so much. The National Park and passage to It via Quepos have become very challenging. What was a small dirt road to the beach and park have become over run. Seemingly unmanaged Development from Quepos to MA Park has not been kind to the area. The access limits and ticketing to the Park are indicators to its popularity, And to its challenges. It’s a gauntlet to navigate “the guides”, who seem to do a decent job. It’s an uphill effort. There are great national parks in Costa Rica, worth seeking out! The country has had immeasurable growth, Costa Rica greatly values its tourist economy and locals (everywhere) exhibit kindness and generosity. It’s cultural. Many Costs have surpassed (food, housing, durable goods) outside travelers home country costs. It’s affordable, but barely to medium income travelers. Net? Beautiful country, wonderful parks, beaches, people, food. One needs to seek out local markets, produce, etc to get a full sense of the country. We felt safe throughout CR, felt that way 20 years ago, still do. We love seeing the children, healthy, smiling happy. A tribute to good people who live and thrive there.

We enjoyed the park with many monkeys and beautiful...

We enjoyed the park with many monkeys and beautiful sceneries despite the hot and humid weather. When we drove to the park for 9-9:40 time slot. Some locals stopped us and told us there is no more parking closer to the entrance since it is closer to Easter week and asked us to pay for a parking fee of $12 about 7 minutes walk to the entrance. After we paid walked closer to the entrance we saw the parking fee was actually at $5 at a hotel. We felt being cheated. We suggest the tourists avoid this by driving closer to check for parking before pay any high parking fee too early.
