United StatesHighly recommend for true nature lovers! This hostel is within walking distance of Semuc Champey & sits right on the river. We cooled off in the river as soon as we arrived, then spent some time relaxing in the warm pool before enjoying one of the most delicious dinners I had in all of Guatemala.
The rooms are warm during the day, but they cool off at night & falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle & wildlife was one of my favorite parts of the experience. It felt like being immersed in nature rather than staying at a typical hotel.
The staff was incredibly kind & helpful, especially Kelly, who went above and beyond by helping us arrange a private transfer to Chichicastenango.
I’m genuinely surprised by some of the negative reviews. For the price, this place offers an amazing experience. If you’re looking for luxury amenities & air conditioning, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you’re low-maintenance, appreciate nature & want an affordable, authentic jungle experience close to Semuc Champey, this place is an absolute gem. I would happily stay here again!

Laurie is super sweet and made sure we were well taken care of. Great location. And very accommodating. Would love to come back here and stay again

United KingdomWe chose this hotel because it’s where the overnight bus from Lake Atitlan would drop us off. So thankful for our decision - it was so convenient and they even let us check in when we arrived about 8am so that we could catch more sleep! The bedroom was very comfortable and the AC worked a treat. The breakfast options and coffee was pretty good too. And the staff were very nice. And the location also made our onward journey to Flores very simple too! What more could you ask for!

Take the full day excursion with a local guide, which includes the walk in the cave having a river flowing in it - you walk in the water with ropes, you feel like Indiana Jones.
Afterwards we went to the final lowest leg of the pools, there there is a cliff e jumped 8 meters into the river
It includes water tubing, flowing along the river.
We climbed to the view point and ent down to the pools.
Not only did we view the pools from the top, we went swimming in each pool - a memorable experience.

Please please please do not wear sunscreen if you plan on getting in the water and bring a reusable bottle that you can refill to avoid buying more plastic which doesn't get recycled and ends up in landfills.

We had a great stay! The location is perfect, very close to Semuc Champey, which made visiting the park extremely convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The swimming pool was amazing and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The food was delicious, with plenty of good options, and our room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Semuc Champey.

The hotel has more of an "hostel" vibe, but it was still family friendly, with all music and noise stopping at 10:00pm. The staff was really nice and halpful. We did the Semuc Champey tour with them and it was very well organized. The food and drinks were amazing.

Simple and basic amenities. There are no lockers inside the shared rooms. There is running water, but there is only one temperature- cold (really good after a long, hot day at Semuc Champey). The river is right next to the property, and was cold and refreshing (beware of the mosquitoes at sunrise and sunset). There was a truck waiting at the shuttle drop off spot to bring us to the hotel, and the truck brought us back to the drop off spot when it was time to go!

The room was big, with an amazing bed and pillows. The breakfast included was delicious.
The pool looked a bit dirty, but they said it was because of the season. The location it is a bit far from the main town Lanquin, which is not so pretty.
It is a place to go to relax just in the hotel. You can visit the Semuc Champey reserve and enjoy the natural pools, which were amazing.

The staff, Werner, and his sister are very nice. We booked our tour to Semuc Champey through the hotel. We had a great packed lunch, and David, our guide, was great. They have warm showers. Easy 5 minute walk to the shuttles.

The rooms are great value for money, and the food at the restaurant is also super cheap! I booked a tour through the accommodation for 200Q and we had a much smaller group tour than people who had booked through other hostels - David is also a fantastic tour guide and was very conscious of us staying safe at Semuc Champey. I was also picked up from the bus station for free, and there is a hot water shower there. I had two fans in my room and the bed was comfortable. The wifi was also a lot better than I expected for Lanquin

Great hotel/hostel with amazing (and reasonable priced) food and very friendly/helpful staff! It was easy to organise a tour to Semuc Champey with them as well as the shuttle to any other place. They also have a complementary pick up from the bus station.
