Beautiful old hotel right in the historic zocalo. Very clean, comfortable room with plenty of hot water, coffee maker, and bottled water everyday. Wi-Fi was very strong. We loved and used our balcony constantly to hear the happenings in the zocalo. 2 working elevators and great bellmen to help with anything. We absolutely loved our stay!

Beautifully decorated. The hotel always smelled amazing between the incense and fresh pine leaves hanging as Christmas decorations. The roof deck and Cantanita next door were great to relax at. Amazing walkable location in the heart of Oaxaca.

Great breakfast, groovy colorful building - helpful guests and hospitality

The staff was wonderful! They were really friendly and made us feel welcome every day. Absolutely everybody was kind to us, from the waiters, the cleaning staff, and even the lady that worked the comal was super kind. Overall we loved the place and will be back.

Clean/big room/nicely decorated

We loved Casa Cid de Leon. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything - museums, wonderful restaurants and the zocalo. We were taking a week-long Spanish class and knew we would want a room that was more spacious than one with just a bed. Our room was very large and didn’t feel cramped at all. The furnishings were comfortable and interesting. We had a huge TV. Breakfast was provided on the rooftop terrace right outside. And as others have said, the house dog - Winnie - was adorable!

Everything was 5 stars! The room,the sunrises, the colibris (hummingbirds), butterflies, dragonflies,and lots of colorful birds that sang all day,the flowers from the tulipan trees,and the zen garden ,the sunny restaurant area ( I've asked for some more rays and they made my wish come true) , the pool area and , especially the staff ! Happy I've met each and everyone! 😊 Couldn't recommend more ! Every time I'll be in Oaxaca,I'll stay here! P.S : if I could,I would have moved there !

The hotel was walking distance to zócalo and many restaurants. Very clean, awesome staff and very safe.

Prime location without being too noisy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room itself was very clean. The big windows that open to the inner courtyard were a lovely touch. I wish I had staid here the entirety of my time visiting Oaxaca.

The staff were excellent, helpful and accommodating , especially Guadalupe, Munci, and Luis.

The property was exactly as it was represented. English was spoken. staff very courteous

We really liked the design, as well as the cleanliness and scent of the place, which you notice as soon as you enter. Everything was spotless, and the amenities were very nice. The extra robes, sandals, and shopping bag offered for use during your stay were a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the welcome mezcal and the friendly staff. Communication was great, and the little city guide with recommendations was very well done. It would be nice to add an online map in addition to the printed maps they provide. Our small private patio was perfect to use at night, and while we didn’t get a chance to try the pool or bar, they looked lovely. Everyone was very kind, especially Ivan and Rebecca, who were amazing.

The hotel was charming and in a truly fantastic location in the heart of the old city, less than a block from the Cathedral plaza and about a block from the main Zocalo. It was easy to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go and felt very safe doing so. The staff in the hotel, particularly Violeta although there weren't a lot of others, were incredibly warm, friendly, welcoming and very helpful and informative. The room was clean and a reasonable size with an excellent bathroom with a shower I wish I had at home. There was a small balcony overlooking the street from which it was very pleasant to watch the activities below. (The photo is of a parade that passed below us.) At first we were a little worried that the room was directly over a fairly busy street, but the windows are very good and the noise level was surprisingly minimal. We slept too late each morning as it was so comfortable and quiet.
