It was lovely. I'm glad we stayed 3nights. It was a difficult journey due to the road conditions of up and down and sometimes the steps are too high and narrow next to the ravines. But we are all glad we made this trip us we are all in our 70s. Our ages are 76, 2 72, 1 71, 45 n 41. We older were helped by our younger companions and the people that. brought our stuff. But it was a wonderful trip. Inspite of the difficulties. The woman running the place was very accommodating. She's excellent.

To visit the UNESCO rice terraces this is a fantastic location. You must walk in over a steep road and steep stairs to get there for about 15 minutes. So, do not plan to take your big roller bag! The rooms are basics but clean. The food was good. The manager was excellent and was always willing to help.

The name of the inn is the host herself. Perfect location in the middle of the terraces. Nights are cool and quiet. But the local hospitality is very warm and friendly. You can walk anywhere without a tour guide. Everyone welcomes me like their own family. 90% of the locals speak good English and Tagalog. A must visit in Batad. The restaurant serves vegetarian and no pork servings. Local brewed coffee is always available. Aunt Christina is well known and respected by the village. A motherly figure to be with while staying in their inn. Thanks a lot to the people of Batad. I will definitely come back soon.

The location is perfect.. especially the view of the spectacular Batad Rice Terraces itself. Really friendly locals. The hike to the Tappiya falls was awesome.

It was a fantastic and a completely different kind of an experience at the rice terraces. The view was beautiful and very soothing to the eye. The local people were very friendly and helpful. It is better to take a guided tour to cover all the rice terraces and know insightful information about them.

Get a local guide and talk to the ministry of tourism, so you can get a personal guide for your trip, much of the traveling here goes through private property, so you want to be with someone who knows their way around, lest you end up in someones back yard or private garden lost. The views are breath taking, but require some level of physical fittness. If you dont hike often be prepared for sore legs. try some of the local food and learn the variations in the language between the regions to experiuence an aditional level of hospitality. Also consider checking otu Batad if you have the time

A real-life Shangri-la !

A real-life Shangri-la ! As the ancient Chinese poet Tao Yuanming described a rural Utopia in "Peach Blossom Spring", Banaue Valley flowing with numerous falls and abundant water is a refreshing site. The Site shares the legacy of flight from Tyranny (from colonial Spaniards) as was the case with ancient Chinese oppression.

Fabulous and unforgettable.

Fabulous and unforgettable. We stayed in a guest house overlooking the terraces in Banaue. We had a trip to Hapao terraces which we much larger and stunning. We hiked for an hour to get to the hot springs and were able to bathe before hiking back. Our guide was brilliant and took us a route that we could cope with. The Batad rice terraces were jaw dropping in their scale and beauty. The town of Banaue was undergoing an upgrade and a lot of building was being done. The road infrastructure to get there was being improved and the road widened. Local drivers have no fear but are safe. It was hard to get there and we used our guest house shuttle service from Cauayan. The best few days I have spent in the Philippines. A place you must go if at all possible.

The location, room and views were amazing. The breakfast was good à la carte but the buffet is just ok. The hotel and the room was very clean and we used the restaurant most of the time while we were there. The staff are helpful for booking a guide and transport accommodations. We went to get a tattoo signature from Apo Whang Od and we visit the Banaue rice terraces. I would say it is one of the best hotel around considering that we are very deep in the mountains. Amazing views from every window of the Banaue Rice Terraces. We were traveling with two kids and older parents and had two rooms next to each other. I’ve travel for work all over the US and room’s interior decor was a study and simplicity and warmth at the same time. It was really well executed and beautiful to compare, I would compare to the Peninsula Manila in its level of comfort in the actual room.
