Super nice hotel. The room we had was simple but had airco, a kitchen area and an outdoor area where you could dry your clothes. Very clean. The staff was awesome. They waited for us to arrive at 02.00am after our flight was delayed. And every day there was Turkish tea, cake, fruits. My 12 year son was asked if he would like additional melon or juice. The swimming pool is great! Close the village center. Couldn't wish for more. Made our stay in Patara awesome 😍

Lovely village, so unspoilt, excellent choice of restaurants...

Lovely village, so unspoilt, excellent choice of restaurants and walks to the beach, shame the government charge silly money to walk or drive down the road through the barrier to get to the beach which is superb and ruins which are so worth a visit. However if you don't mind walking there are several ways around this. Sailing restaurant offers several sunset trips to the sand dunes each week.

November: it was quiet in the town but enough was open.

November: it was quiet in the town but enough was open. The markets are limited and there is a long (30 min walk) road in from the dolmus sotp oin the D400. You can enter the ruins by foot from the high side of the town and THEY ARE AMAZING. Dolmus out from the main bus stop until after 7pm.

Patara is lovely rural and quiet with beautiful scenery. The beach is long and sandy. Light coloured sand no pebbles no stones. Beach has turtles, yet turtles only appear at night time when beach is shut. Waves can be choppy in the sea. No drunken English here, it is not commercialised like Bodrum. No fish and chip shops. This is real Turkey. Many Turkish holiday here. Mosques dotted about. Every few hours a call for prayer happens. Lots of ancient ruins to see in Patara. The village of Gelemez is pretty. Many restaurants run by families. Excellent service in restaurants and fair prices. What I did not like is some of the roads are not the best quality. Some delapidated buildings about that are half built.

It's a small village with a handful of restaurants and...

It's a small village with a handful of restaurants and tourist shops and a couple of mini markets. Apart from the beach and ruins, there isn't much there, but the location was good for us with a car as we were able to explore all along the coast - Aludanez, Fethiye, Kalkan and Kas were all within a reasonable distance. The drive along the coast going north was exciting! Great views but lots of single track mountain climbs to navigate, we enjoyed that.

Visited a couple of times before. Village restaurants not so good as previously. Simbar charging more than in Kalkan for cocktails! Village generally very quiet this time, no buzz, however first time visiting in Sept, which may account for this. Bus timetable not worth publishing as they come when they want and don't always go to the bus station.

Despite its popularity, Patara remains a traditional Turkish village. This is because it is protected for both archaeological and nature reasons. Turtles nest here. We visit regularly. It is all accessible on foot but if it's very hot or you have trouble walking any distance, it is best to get the dolmus to the beach. Yes, you have to pay to enter the beach but this is because it is part of an archaeological site. The beach was very, very crowded on a hot summer weekend (avoid in high season if you don't like crowds) but it is so long it's easy to find space to sit and swim. Patara is very convenient for visits to other sites like Xanthos and Letoon.

We loved the location in central Patara , close to the beach & shops & the warm welcome from Arife & his staff The hotel is well situated for the beach , great sunset , plenty of restaurants close by & nice friendly bar for a drink . Fantastic and friendly hotel. Gokhan and family could not have been more helpful. Lovely breakfast, great pool area and convenient location well connected via the dolmus. We have not been to Turkey before but we will definitely be back.
