Hotels near Landmark 81, Ho Chi Minh City

A bit of a splurge, but the nicest hotel my wife and I have stayed in, anywhere in the world. We had a panorama room on the 58th floor, with incredible views of Saigon. The hotel bar is beautiful, the restaurant breakfast is delicious, and the staff were incredible.

The thing that sets this property apart is truly the staff. They are kind, thoughtful, helpful, and they speak excellent in English. They go out of their way to make your stay a special one. Location wise, this property is in Little Japan, amongst small, cute, mostly Japanese restaurants and bars. Beyond that, there are also lots of international choices en Vietnamese places. The location is a little calmer than district one, which to me is a big plus.

In Thao Dien's heart, Amanaki's charm, We found a haven, safe and warm. In Hochiminh's embrace, under city lights, Our love flourished, reaching new heights. Streets bustling, yet within these walls, A serene oasis, where tranquility calls. Together we wandered, in urban embrace, Finding peace in this vibrant place. Morning's glow, evening's gentle sigh, In Amanaki, time seemed to fly. With you, my love, in joyful stay, In the heart of the city, our love's ballet.

The place is indeed boutique-ish, with a calm music and cozy, refined design across the building. The room is spacious and well-maintained. There’s even a microwave and a kitchen sink in the room, very convenient. The bathroom is comfortable and pleasant to use. The breakfast is wonderful, highly recommend! Florence, a receptionist, was exceptionally kind and very pleasant to communicate with. Thank her very much for her advice on the fireworks show in the city centre and where to watch it!

We stayed at Glenwood 7 nights for a business trip. We booked the deluxe room with balcony with a small kitchen. Here are our thoughts: Room and facility location: The room is clean and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped including the rice cooker (a big plus). The facility is clean and well maintained including many beautiful trees and bushes, koi ponds and an on site restaurant that serves western and Vietnamese cuisine with well mixed fruits drink, beers and spirits! There are many variations of Vietnamese foods, southeast Asian cuisine and Western pub’s within walking distance or a short drive! Staffs and Services: TOP NOTCH! It’s all start with Jenny (Ms Hằng). I think she is in charge of the front office. The staff are polite, kind, caring, knowledgeable and thorough! This includes the cleaning and maintenance crew! Some of names that I interacted with: Minh, Duyên, Phương Anh, Tú and Tú (there are two Tú). This definitely makes my staying here so comfortable, happy and worthy!! It’s HOME away from home!❤️ A big THANK YOU to Glenwood Resort and the entire crew!!🙏🏼

Very convenient for foreigners and area was very close to everything!

Affordable, no frills hotel- it has everything we need, comfortable beds, wardrobe with plenty of hangers, fridge, free drinking water, coffee, slippers, plenty of electrical outlets, working aircon, hot water for shower, shoe rack.

I like that I got a free upgrade from standard to superior room! The room was pretty spacious for one person. It had a great view of the city. It has a minibar, water and hairdryer which was very important for me. They had Netflix on too. The staff were very helpful, thanks to Khanh and Sơn for assisting me. I would probably stay here again if I choose to return in D2.

The staff here was great, I would say that’s the only thing this hotel has going for it. Our first room had a spring poking through the mattress, the second room the AC didnt work. The 3rd room was great but we had to listen to loud sex for one of the nights we stayed, complete with slapping and screaming. Quite entertaining actually, but definitely not the vibe we were looking for. We should have walked out the first night when we saw the sign in the lobby that mentioned hourly room rental (as we all know what that means).. but just coming off a 20 hour flight, it wasn’t an option for us. Also, good to know if you’re looking to stay in District 2 you probably want to be across the other side of the street. There’s no way to walk across that big street, so plan on taking a Grab if you stay over on this side But again the staff was great
