Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Talalla South

View is amazing along with perfect beach access. Loved the hospitality & breakfast was exceptional

We stayed at two places on Talalla beach and this was our favorite. We stayed in room #3, which did not have a beach view balcony. However, only three rooms were being rented. The other two had private balconies, and there was a third balcony overlooking the ocean in between those two. In effect, we had that third balcony all to ourselves. The room itself was pleasant. A little bit of noise during evening traffic hours, but was rather quiet when sleeping. Everything was comfortable and modern. The dining area is incredible. Fantastic views. For breakfast, they provided Sri Lankan food instead of toast and eggs (we requested this and they happily obliged). They also had a refrigerator, stovetop burner, and some basic cookware. We didn't think we'd use this initially, but all the restaurants on Talalla seemed to be overpriced with small portions. We ended up taking the 5 to 10 minute walk to the grocery store, buying some basics, and cooking our own lunch and dinner. We also would go every few days into the nearby Matara to stock up on tropical fruits. Our favorite part was of course that the property was right on the beach. The outdoor garden area also had several comfortable lounge spots, where we spent hours relaxing and gazing into the ocean. The owner grew up on this piece of land, long before it was a tourist destination. By staying here, you are literally supporting a local couple with deep ties to land, as opposed to someone who came in and built a big hotel. They were very friendly and helpful, while also offering lots of privacy and space. Also, the owner offered to drive us around to different tourist destinations in his car at a price that either matched or was lower than what we could get from the Pick Me app. Some of the other hotels on the beach really tried to gouge you on the price. It was refreshing to be treated fairly and kindly. Overall, incredible value and also just a really nice peaceful vacation spot.

Spacious and clean rooms. Excellent ocean views from the 2nd & 3rd floor. Food from the hotel was amazing, recommended! Friendly family run business.

Superb location and helpful staff… gorgeous gardens and wildlife.

It is only 200 meters to the lovely beach, which is not at all crowded and is safe for swimming. The hostess is a very good cook and all our dinners and breakfasts were served by her. The ceiling fans does a good job, but for a small extra charge we added AC, which was especially helpful between 6pm and bedtime, when the humidity kicks in.

Our hosts were so kind and welcoming, we felt right at home here. It was hard for us to leave! The room had all the facilities to cook our own food, we enjoyed going to the local grocery store instead of going to the expensive restaurants down by the beach.

Nisha, the caretaker, is beyond fantastic. She is so thoughtful and kind. She helped me find (through her daughter) a taxi to a national park and after I told her (genuinely!!) that the mango she had given me was the best of my life, she brought me a bag the next morning with two off her tree from home. Her cooking is excellent. The property is clean and quiet.
