Such a special place! The permaculture and mushroom tours taught me so much. It’s more than a hostel—it’s a whole experience. Great food, peaceful yoga, and beautiful jungle all around.

The staff was amazing and super accommodating. Very kind and friendly. Helped us out with moto rentals and the food was good.

Beautiful location. Walking distance to main road with some nice restaurants within 30 mins. Information booklet in the room was helpful. Help to rent mopeds, organise transport, guides etc. The room was spacious, bed was really comfortable, hardly any creepy crawlies (this is a complaint from many of the eco lodges). Good wifi. 2 fans which was nice. Good shower pressure and temperature.

Absolutely stunning property situated in the middle of the jungle with beautiful views. You are right in the middle of it all - the sounds, smells and views are all amazing and so relaxing. Breakfast was unreal and staff was lovely. This was a beautiful experience for us!

Our room was spotless, the WiFi is excellent, and the communal kitchen is a huge bonus. The hostess is really friendly and will help with anything you need, from logistics to rentals or tours. The breakfast she makes each day is excellent and rotates between four main meals. You even get a welcome drink on arrival! The location is great, surrounded by greenery but still close to restaurants, markets, and the Finca Magdalena approach to Maderas volcano. We stayed five nights and we’d happily stay again!

Private, peaceful spot in Balgue, only a few steps away from the water’s edge. Loved waking up in the morning and being able to look straight out onto the lake. Would highly recommend this place!

Huge property, very private with gorgeous views. The staff were so kind and helpful - they arranged our cars to/from omtempe and helped us rent ATVs. There is a farm on the property and they use the food from there at the restaurant, the food was fantastic! There are also several hiking trails off the property and we got great massages. Also, it is clear Selvistas is very invested in the local community and economy. Everything seems to be done with sustainability and locals in mind. Pictures don’t do it justice. Highly highly recommend!

We loved the rustic feeling of the cabaña, which was airy with probably one of the most comfortable beds we had on our trip. The kitchen is simple but has everything you need to feel at home and be able to cook if you wish. There are places nearby to buy supplies if you do want to cook for yourself. And a comedor just across the road. The owners are lovely and very open to making suggestions. The garden is open and relaxing. There were kids and chickens nearby and not at all an issue for us. We walked a lot to see the lake and a nearby chocolate factory.

The location was amazing if you want to experience the jungle that Ometepe has to offer. I woke up to the sound of birds and monkies! The view is amazing and the whole farm felt quite and peaceful. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind as well. Having a restaurant on site was convenient (they opened at 6am). The hotel is a bit far from the main road, but you are right at the base of Maderas volcano and not far from a beach to enjoy the sunset. I recommend doing a tour with a guide there! It was the highlight of my time in Nicaragua. They were able to describe the interesting history of the finca, as well as identify birds, animals, plants and insects during our hike. I had a lovely experience. The hotel is definitely not luxury, but the simple living was part of the magical experience. Each room was clean and provided a bug net and fan. The beds were comfortable and clean!

We stayed in one of the new private rooms which had a bathroom. Nice distance from the party on a Wednesday so no issues with sleeping. Staff were super helpful. Easy to rent a scooter at the accomodation to get to all the main sights.

Owners are so kind and helpful. They have a bunch of friendly animals. Attached to hostel is a restaurant with good food. Location is great- walking distance from shops, beach, cafes, etc

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was perfect, just steps from the beach and within walking distance of the local market, making it easy to explore the island without needing transportation. The property felt very safe and secure, and the hospitality was outstanding. Don Hector was an incredible host who regularly checked in with us and was always available whenever we needed anything. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay on Ometepe with a great location and a host who genuinely cares about his guests, we would definitely recommend staying here.

The suroundings and views are really beauriful. It also has a great location where you can reach all the main attractions and restaurants on a scooter. There is no AC but there are fans which were enough. We also appreciated the mosquito nets in all windows and doors as well as above the bed.
