United StatesThis is a one of a kind luxurious, comfortable, pampered experience. Karen and David are the sweetest, kindest, most courteous people ever! Their years in the hospitality industry shine through but mostly their passion for providing a pampered Scottish experience reigns. The house is beautiful; the room is enormous with an even bigger bathroom with separate shower and tub. The room boasts extravagant furnishings and an even more extravagant view of the Scottish Border hills. We were greeted with cheerful, kind, words and gestures that are unmatched (and we have traveled extensively). Love this place and Moffat but especially Karen and David; they are true gems!

Great location and very helpful owner. Property had a new, nicely equipped kitchen and a great shower room. Property was also very clean. Delighted that property was also pet friendly. It has Joy the bulldog’s seal of approval.

Absolutely lovely stay, we booked very last minute and the staff were very friendly, they ensured someone was on reception to welcome us. The room was clean, cosy, modern and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great! They had a veggie and a vegan alternative, as well as providing the traditional breakfast + haggis/blackpudding would rate the stay a 10/10. Would definitely revisit in the future and recommend for anyone who has a pet dog, they were very dog friendly! Ours was even able to join us for breakfast!

We went as a family of four with two dogs. The location gives that of a rural setting however you are only 20 mins drive from a well equipped town. The cottage was perfect and had everything and more needed, the children loved being outdoors and fishing. The resident dog Oreo is absolutely gorgeous and so friendly the children are missing him already.

The hotel was very welcoming and we had a brilliant view. It was a very peaceful location and great as we dined at the hotel in evening. Our weekend was wet but we enjoyed it the same. The owner is very pleasant gentlemen and it's not often to meet them in person. Food was great! Loved everything!!! Very dog friendly also and beautiful grounds for dogs to walk or run.

The Village Inn might not look much from the outside but do not be fooled as it’s a great place for a stay in the beautiful Scottish borders. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with lovely views across the Scottish countryside. Location - just off the motorway - is peaceful with easy parking. Breakfast freshly cooked and enjoyable. Venue very dog friendly. Alison is a great host and made us feel very welcome.

The hotel is in a great location, very handy for shops and dog walks. It is very pet-friendly and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The deluxe room we stayed in for one night had a good layout and was quiet.
