The location was quiet and calm surrounded by beautiful trees. The space is private and cozy. There were lovely touches, like fresh flowers, fresh firewood set up for a fire in the little fireplace, and plenty of fruit, eggs, breakfast meats, milk, juice, fresh ground coffee, and tea options for breakfast. The staff were friendly and responsive. The location is good for a quick walk into town for shopping and food as well as to get to spaces to walk in nature. I could not recommend this place enough!

Apart from the great accommodation and adequate breakfast provisions the manager was amazing. I accidently did some significant damage (broken window) and she was so understanding. We agreed a $ for compensation and everyone was happy :-)

A lovely stay at Rod's place. He was a fabulous host and very easy to communicate with. The guesthouse is very homely and filled with quaint trinkets and antiques. The King room is very spacious and the views from the balcony are lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub on a chilly afternoon.

Beautiful location tucked away in a quiet area. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were able to visit lots of nearby places and enjoyed coming back to warm up in front of the heater on the colder autumn nights. We look forward to returning for another stay.

The view from this guesthouse was absolutely amazing! The host was so friendly and so were his 3 dogs. The rustic refuge guesthouse was absolutely stunning and beautiful, all from the decor, to the location, the people and we enjoyed everything about it. The host also had all the amenities you would need. In the room there was a microwave and a fridge and we really appreciate the little extras - the cookies and juice and breakfast cereals.

The hotel's location is beautiful! Very scenic and pleasing to the eye. The sound of birds chirping and the trees surrounding the grounds make it a very romantic location for a couple's get away. The bed was very comfortable and having the AC/heating unit be so close to the bed is wonderful.

Breakfast was good when we first arrived as it was a cooked breakfast with poached or scrambled eggs, cooked mushrooms or tomatoes and bacon, this was when a large group of people were attending a conference with presentations and workshops. The location was a very beautiful nature garden in the Dandenong mountains, it was a very peaceful bushland setting.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The property was very large, more for conferences I think. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable with tea and coffee available. Great place to stay when you have a car. The restaurant was closed so drove to town for dinner. Breakfast was continental and basic so we drove to town for something more exciting.
