View from Hotel was best. Room was the biggest size we ever lived in any hotel. It was crystal clean and good furnished and decorated with kids friendly furniture. Bathroom was very clean and very big and warm. Toilet was separate from bathroom. Sauna and steam bath was plus, though we couldn't use as we were so lasy to use it, it's very big hotel so everything was well managed. Kids play area , grown up play area with pool table and TT was awesome.

Everything was fantastic, and we were absolutely thrilled with the accommodation. The kitchen was very well-equipped with appliances, making our stay very comfortable. The only minor point was that there could have been a few more dishes considering the size of the dishwasher, but that’s just a small detail. Overall, everything was absolutely perfect for us and we will return to this place for sure.

I loved the breakfast and the pool/sauna area. The breakfast was amazing, with a huge selection of food and drinks. Also the relax area with the pool and the sauna was top level, with different types of saunas. I loved the Finnish sauna with a view on the village of Kitzbühel. I really appreciated the fact that the sauna and pool area closed late in the evening.

Everything was clean. The breakfast was delicious, and all the staff was super friendly. Sadly, one of our suitcases was left behind by SAS (the worse airline), where we took our connecting flight. The ladies at the front desk were helpful by calling the airport and directing us where to rent the ski clothing and equipment.

A nice place with a great location for skiing.

A nice place with a great location for skiing. Free ski shuttle from hotel a plus. Skis could be rented at the hotel but we found getting them near the gondola was easier since we could store them there. The pool was spectacular! The castle rooms are comfortable and spacious but there is no elevator! This was difficult to navigate with luggage. Also free parking available on property but way down the hill. Breakfast was included and alot of variety. Bar area beautiful. IWe would definitely stay here again even with the few challenges.

Pretty small town with a lively but relaxed atmosphere; community events such as outdoor cinema night, band concert, etc. Plenty of restaurants and bars with a convivial atmosphere. Good variety of shops for most needs. Town surrounded by lovely hills with a variety of walks. Near enough to Kitzbuehel to be convenient for the facilities available there, but far enough away to feel quiet and relaxing. Suitable and safe area for couples, families. solo travellers or groups of friends.

I got myself a bike and enjoyed the pedestrian town centre...

I got myself a bike and enjoyed the pedestrian town centre where I could also bike. you get a gastekarte if you stay 3 or more days in St Johann which allows you to get free buses and train journeys. Free open air swimming pool, one free ride on the cable car. transport was easy to get to. the station is near the town centre. you can get your bike on all trains and buses. there were a good variety of restaurants, including thai, indian and italian ones. People tended to be very helpful when you needed help. the town is surrounded by beautiful mountains. There is also a good tourist information. it is safe to park you bike anywhere and without locking it. the Thursday market is very interesting and is all day.

An amazing place, we've visited it first in winter (Jan 2026) for skiing, we liked it so much we had to see it in summer too, so we went (in Jul 2026) for cycling. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The place is especially suitable for families with kids, as at the top of the lifts there are kids paradises. On top of that. great connection to/from Salzburg, Innsbruck or Munchen.

The scenery is breathtaking.

The scenery is breathtaking. The free bus that runs between the villages is really good. Whilst Soll isn't a large village/town, the free bus service means that your access is across four villages at no extra cost. Soll has plenty places to eat and drink and the gondola pass allows access to a wonderful high-level walk between Scheffau and Elmau. in the summer, there is a food, drink and local goods festival each Wednesday in Soll, and on Fridays, each restaurant and hotel provides live, outdoor music entertainment.

This locality is the "snow corner of the Tiro" - it has snow in the valley when other resorts don't. The landscape and the village environments are beautiful and relatively without commercial architecture. The main ski-resort is brilliant - linked to Saalbach - Hin and also family friendly; Go to fantastic InterSport Gunther in the Fieberbrunn town for best value ski hire and apparel. Nearby St Jakob Buchansteinwand small ski area is great for learning and families and excellent value - get ski hire at the lift for best value. It has a family theme park and wonderful langlauf and touring territory as well as the Jakobskreutz - A massive "Cross" building on top of the Buchenstand mountain that can be seen for miles.

Westerndorf itself is very nice and quiet, not the most lively place I've been to, so wouldn't recommend it if you are young people looking for parties... My main issue was that the entire ski area is not great. It's considered the second largest in Austria, but it's pretty low, and global warming means that the snow there is terrible (even in February). Most of the pistes were too short for my liking and not great. We ended up running away to Kitzbuhel the next day, and it was much better

Mittersill surprised us positively with its good services.

Mittersill surprised us positively with its good services. Billa plus had an excellent variety of vegan products to choose from. The local asian restaurant also had some vegan options. Sympathetic little town that we would have liked to get to know better, but during our short visit we focused on the surrounding nature attractions (Hintersee, Krimml waterfalls, Umbaltal waterfalls).

Between Innsbruck and Kitzbuhel but small and quaint village...

Between Innsbruck and Kitzbuhel but small and quaint village away from the crowds. We ate twice at Koller pensioner in Brixen. Lovely Austrian food and hospitality. Otherwise we shared cooking with friends with plentiful food in the local supermarkets.

Hopfgarten im Brixental is a great option for friendly good...

Hopfgarten im Brixental is a great option for friendly good skiing at a great price along with authentic Austrian cooking. Hopfgarten has three large supermarkets and at least a dozen decent restaurants so there is plenty to keep your family busy and fed when they aren't skiing or hiking. European ski values are phenomenal compared to the USA (tickets are $55 - 75 for half day/full day) and Austrian slope difficulty ratings are a little understated compared to America, so Although Hopfgarten and its several connected mountains appear to be mostly "intermediate" in difficulty they can range from intermediate to high intermediate, which is good. plenty of lifts at connected mountains to explore for extra runs and varied apres ski adventure and you are only 30 minutes from the larger towns of Worgl and Kitzbuhel by train or car.
