"We visited St Wolfgang in the 'late season' and while it was a bit colder, it was still beautiful. Some of the more seasonal tourist shops looked to be closed, but much of the city was still open. Everything/the city is easily walkable and we highly recommend taking the lake's water ferry for a better look at the surroundings and to see the opposite sides of the lake (Strobl/St.Gilgen). For fantastic, authentic Austrian cuisine, we ate and highly recommend the Weissen Hirsch. If you are looking for something more modern and upscale, we also highly recommend Ledererhaus at Seevilla."

"We enjoyed our stay at Obertraun. Easy access into Hallstatt, which is the reason for our staying there. Jane recommended we have dinner at Gasthaus Koppenrast, just outside of Obertraun. We had a very nice dinner outside on their patio next to a stream. Good food and no rush. Did the salt mine tour. Although we did it about 48 years ago, we had two rug rats then and this was a refresher and more relaxing. In Hallstatt, ate at Braugasthof. Right on the Lake. Very nice."

"Amazing location, beautiful nature, gorgeous lake and the mountains offered perfect walking tours. Local people were nice too :) The centre of the city is small and pretty, many pubs with great wine and food. The location as well as the nature were well taken care off and clean. Totally worth visiting: Observation tower Kulmspitz We will for sure come back to explore more."

"We enjoyed the walking trail near our house. We also enjoyed trying to walk around the lake. It was pretty warm that day and I didn't get half way before my family said I probably needed to go back (age 81). Two of them made it all the way around but one daughter stayed with me. It was good advice to go back as I was pretty pooped by then. Two of them went up the gondola and two of us stayed behind. One of my daughters walked other various trails there and also went to the castle ruins. I loved looking at the beautiful mountains and everyone was mowing and making hay while we were there. Was interesting to see how different it was from the way we do it in America. Gosau and Hallstatt are two of my favorite places."

"The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent! The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable. and the bathroom was great- excellent shower pressure! We had access to an elevator which helped with the bags and we had a fantastic view of the area on the top floor along with a balcony. I had a minor issue with the reservation on booking.com and the manager/ owner was very accommodating and helped me resolve it. I would highly recommend this property. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer."

The location is amazing - the views are so picturesque! The staff are very nice and friendly, and even helped us fix the wheelchair when my wheel fell off! They give you good advice on what to see in the area and coupons. From Traunkirchen you can easily reach all other lakes (if you want to). The new spa on the top floor is luxurious and breathtaking. Breakfast is very good! Coffee is great. Loved that you can install apps on the TV, so I could watch a live TV channel from home and watch the news. So cool! Fast Wi-Fi.
