"Tamworth is a bigger town than expected but without the traffic queues. We went to the look out and enjoyed the scene from afar. Visited the big guitar and The Australian Music Hall of Fame - -found it was built in the shape of a guitar. Shopping Centers were not as crowded but loved the little shops along the main Peel street. We had the opportunity to see the Professional Bull Riding show and that was exciting. Also had the opportunity to visit Nundle (mining town) and various farmers markets. An enjoyable discovery of Tamworth"

AustraliaGood location, half way along a road trip, but not in a busy city. A quiet, picturesque, country pub, big on service and hospitality. I out ran a storm that devastated Tamworth and sought sanctuary. There were major blackouts just after I arrived, but the staff were all over it. Calm and in control. I didn’t want for anything. The kitchen staff just advised me I would have to eat before dark and showed me the menu items they could prepare with gas. The bar manager was amazing. I just sat and had a drink and listened to her organise everything on the phone as cool as a cucumber.

The location was great, especially as it looks still to be a working sheep farm. The grounds are beautifully kept, there has been a lot of money and effort put into restoring the original farm buildings while still modenising them. It was zero degrees the night we stayed and yet we were cosy and warm in the sheep shearers quarters. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.

We didn't want to leave this boutique heritage guesthouse. We loved sitting around the open fire, tasting wine in the beautifully restored great hall. Our meals were superb and we loved our historic bedroom. The heated bathroom floor was very welcome on a cold winter's morning. The staff were all fabulous.

Location and park facilities are great. Cabins are clean and comfortable. A short walk to the Peel Hotel which has great daily specials at more than reasonable prices. The Nundle Woolen Mill is a great place to visit

The front deck lady is very kind, she let us to have two beds room without charging us extra which is very nice! The accommodation located on the main road but the traffic at night is okay didn’t disturb our sleep. Only hope the doona can be a bit thicker. Definitely recommend it if you want to visit Tamworth.

Loved the old buildings. Since my last visit 50 years ago I can see its not the same clean town it used to be, farmland was good sheep and cattle were doing well even though we could see farmers feeding them for winter

Tenterfield is a wonderful location to use as a hub for visiting local attractions. The town has many arts, crafts, historic and culinary experiences to visit. The golf course is also picturesque and popular with locals and visitors alike. Thoroughly enjoyed Tenterfield and will keep coming back.

Bigger than I thought and seemed to have most of what you could ask for in a country town - services club, restaurant including Macdonalds, Subway and even a Harvey Norman store. Two supermarkets. A lovely sojourn

People very friendly.
People very friendly. We arrived late Saturday so most of the shops were closed, also closed Sunday. However the supermarkets and pubs were open! The Tourist Hotel had great service, great food and nice atmosphere. Walk along the river and coffee at The Crossroads (which is also the cinema) on Sunday was very peaceful. Coffee and breakfast at Coogle Cafe is also a must, it is also a small garden centre.

because of elevation 110 above sealevel can be chilly in winter. loved visiting the stones and provided a great view from up there over the town. the man in the Information centre was so knowledgeable and helped us plan some adventures

Convenient location.
Convenient location. Staff and Management very helpful, kind and courtious. I checked in later due to trvelling long distance. I also extended my stay to rest due to travelling, and staff made this process very easy at short notice.

Locals were not very warm to tourists. I was ordering dinner at one of the pubs and they chuckled when I didn’t know what sides were offered and because they were too busy belittling me they forgot to put my partners order through so he didn’t have anything but the entree. There was barely any friendly banter between us and them, we were polite and my partner loves a chat but mostly got uninterested stares and most conversations were cut short. Most of the advertising was misleading, everywhere (incl Google) said the go see the lagoon, we get there and it’s all dried up, see a notice for Saturday markets, go where it says it will be and they are closed etc.

I went to Quirindi to catch up with some mates I hadn't seen...
I went to Quirindi to catch up with some mates I hadn't seen for a long time. There are plenty of Pubs in town and the restaurant at Willow Tree was outstanding. The bistro at the RSL is great quality and I would highly recommend an afternoon at the Rugby club with your mates.
It's a great place to relax and the country atmosphere is very refreshing.

It's been nearly 50 years since I ran here and apart from great o with it hasn't changed much. Still same friendly people. The town was buzzing it was so good to see a town with every shop open and all trading successfully. A lot of towns are like ghost towns with for lease signs up in every windows.
We did the normal attractions and enjoyed every second.
The homed are well kept and thr farming country I'd second to none. We are retired beef producers and a ppreciate looking at top class cattle. Plenty of black Angus and of course sheep. Beautiful scenery and well kept paddocks.
I still want to live here.
