We loved the beachfront location and it was easy to walk to restaurants, stores, and tour operators.
While the property had bikes available, we didn't need to use them. Also, no need to rent a car and if you do rent a car, note that there isn't parking at the property, you will still have to walk from parking. We flew Tropic Air from Belize City and it was worth it. Plus, the property offers free pick up and drop off at the Placencia airport.
This is a small, family owned and operated property. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. With only 5 units available, it was quiet with a laid back feel and you never feel crowded. The beach was well maintained and beautiful. There were lounge chairs, tables, kayaks and paddle boards to use at no cost. They also provide beach towels, so no need to pack them.
Our unit was on the second floor, which was named Namaste. It had a full kitchen and 2 full baths, which was more than the 2 of us needed but was nice to have. We had a large balcony with 4 chairs, 2 foot rests and 2 hammocks. We loved napping in the hammocks.
The team offers breakfast daily on the rooftop terrace. While it is pretty simple, it is a nice offering to get your day started. If you have an early outing or it is raining, they will bring breakfast to your room.
Overall, we felt it was a great location and experience for the price. We would definitely visit again.

I would highly recommend staying here! The location was just outside the busy village which was great for us. Very quiet and mellow. The beach was beautiful and clean. Chabil Mar Villas has a free shuttle to get into the village starting at 4 pm which was perfect for us to go have dinners in town. During the day, you can ride their bikes or rent a golf cart. Our villa had everything we needed, especially the full kitchen with a washer and dryer. If you don't feel like cooking, they had room service with a full menu that you can order and have it delivered anywhere on the grounds. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!

Small village with few shops.
Small village with few shops. Nice restaurant and beach bars. There is a walkway that goes all through downtown and it has no cars or cycling on it. Best time to visit is Dec through April. Charming town quiet and peaceful. Beware of stray dogs.

This is the place to go if you want a quite, laid-back vacation. This is not to say that if you are looking for adventure and activities, there are plenty around. The Kalimera Beach Hotel was amazing. The attention to detail was spot on. The food there was delicious and the staff was professional, kind and efficient. I would recommend renting a golf cart to get around. Placencia Village is about 20 minutes away, but not a bad drive. There is one main highway that goes down the entire peninsula and it has speedbumps every quarter mile, so it is very safe. We had about 5 restaurants in walking distance from our hotel. We loved the chocolate tour we took and the hike to the waterfalls. We also loved the fact that the beaches there are not overrun by huge multi-story hotels and hotel chains. It still seems very native. Even the village is not overrun by chain restaurants. Locals seem to own and run the stores and restaurants. The locals were kind, helpful and very proud of there little piece of heaven. The only negative thing was the sargassum. It was very heavy and didn't clear up until the last day of vacation.

Nice chill place to visit. Great for families. Safe with super easy walking in the village. Nice restaurants. Had so much fun with Daytripper Sailing (formerly Placencia Sailing) that we did it twice. Super great catamaran day trip with wonderful food and a very small group each time (5-6).

Ended our week in Belize with an amazing stay at Maya Beach. Terrific rooms with incredible views and well appointed areas for relaxing. Added bonus: best food in Placencia is offered at the onsite restaurant- The Bistro. How nice to not have to look for places to eat. All the best food & drink was offered onsite. But we did love De Tatch in Placencia for breakfast!

Placentia is the 'island' you can drive to, which does give you option to visit inland sites like Cockscomb National Park or see the Red Bank scarlet macaws for the day, if you want a break from the beach, an option you won't have in Caye Caulker or San Pedro. The barrier reef is still fairly close, with good snorkeling and diving. Laughing Bird Caye is only 12 miles offshore, about a 30 minute ride with Splash Dive.

Cute boutique resort hotel, great location, well kept grounds, very friendly staff. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and we could have easily stayed for longer. We loved being able to sit on our porth and watch the sun rise, and the 40 steps to the water. It was very pretty. The food at the restaurant, which was always busy, was good. The kayaks & SauP to youse are great. We paddled to around the bay & over to the marina & found ourselves floating amongst a pod of dolphins. I’d 10/10 recommend this place and would stay again.
