This hotel was a little way out of the central city area but it was so delightful. The décor was GRAND and delightful. the entrance had royalty memorabilia and tea memorabilia and comfort laid on. It was beautiful and divine. the room was huge with 2 queen size beds and heaps of room for luggage and a little door which opened up to a small outside seated area off your room. The bathroom had beautiful fresh white towels. We had a room with an accessible shower, eg not a shower over a bath and it was very roomy. the staff were very accommodating. We had a car and car parking was available undercover or outside for free. We were only here for 1 evening and it was very enjoyable.

Very clean and the decor was great! An extra feature we enjoyed was the dining table was on rollers and tucked away nicely under the entertainment stand, so we pulled it out when needed and had lots of room to move around. The air conditioning worked very well as it was one of the hottest days this summer. The free mini gold with your stay was awesome and the outside seating area with BBQ is awesome. Very close to beach and restaurants. I would recommend this place for sure. And the front counter receptionist was so friendly and kind, I believe his name was Juper.

Clean inside and out. Grounds well kept. Parking is right outside the rooms and well lit. I have a dog. He is house trained and clean. There is no smell from other animals in the rooms. That’s important to me as other upscale hotels put you into rooms that have stains on the floors and smell like pee. VIP IS VERY CLEAN ! No animal smell at all.

Why did I wait so long to discover Nanaimo!?!

Why did I wait so long to discover Nanaimo!?! I was so wrong in my misconceptions about Nanaimo. What an amazing place! There is so much to do in or around Nanaimo it has become me defacto home base when touring southern Vancouver Island. If it's not in Nanaimo, it's probably a short drive from there. Even Victoria is only 90 minutes away and hotels in Nanaimo are almost half the price.

Had bonding time with my sister-in-law and our nieces at Beautify Nail Salon, a great experience! Stayed at The Tide's Inn. Would stay there again! Next time I will take advantage of their fire pit, popcorn, and mini-putt. And they're proximity to Parksville Beach and boardwalk.

As we like to walk we appreciated the boardwalk but wished it stayed on the beach the entire way. As it went around houses etc. we were often walking on the road. Loved the availability of benches along the way and the grassy areas.

The space was great.

The space was great. Sat on the couch and could see the ocean view. I easily walked around the neighbourhood. There is a marina within walking distance with a restaurant and coffee shop. Very lovely but was closed during my stay. Ate at Qualicum Beach Cafe. Great happy hour menu and also at The BeachClub Resort in Parksville. You do need a car. Lots of hiking, biking, walking, kayaking and beaches.

We walked to the beach from the place we stayed & took in a beautiful sunset. It was about a 10 minute walk. Is a quiet place to stay, even though the highway is relatively close by. We do much else in Lantzville itself. We chose Lantzville because of its central location to the places we wanted to travel to during our stay on.

Lovely coffee shops and seaside park.

Lovely coffee shops and seaside park. But using a car and disabled it was difficult to find car route to seaside. We found 2 hour free parking available near The Vault restaurant and cafe with its excellent food and fun atmosphere. The map on my phone helped a lot. Asteras Greek restaurant has fabulous food and great service. You can access a side door rather than using stairway. It is popular so be sure to reserve.

Stayed here coming back from Tofino to catch the Nanaimo ferry the next day. Fabulous hosts, great views over the Bay from the hillside, easy access, spacious property, immaculately clean, peace and quiet, yet close to town. Certainly a place I will will come back to soon. I rate it five stars. At the Provincial Park in nearby Parkville, I saw 12 orcas right off the beach.

We loved taking the little ferry to the floating Dinghy Dock pub for dinner. We were delighted by the Night Market....charming. We were disappointed by the Petroglyph Park...shocked to see so many of the rocks defaced by modern graffiti, But we enjoyed Englishman River Falls and Coombs. We took the Hullo ferry to Vancouver which was excellent.
