A fantastic hotel and restaurant. The room was, as advertised, "Alpenchic". Very tastefully decorated and appointed with all the amenities. A functional bathroom with an extra large sink and a wonderful shower. Quiet room with a balcony on the back side, away from traffic. Excellent wifi. Staff were very friendly, warm and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both outstanding.

An incredible hotel! One of the best we've ever stayed at. The rooms are stunning, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the food was outstanding and the wellness center was really great. The hotel also organized a snowshoe walking tour, which was a unique and special experience. We will definetyly come back next time we will be in Livignio. Before booking, we had a few concerns: Food – We didn’t find many reviews about the food, especially dinner, which made us hesitant. However, we decided to go with the half-board option, and we’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely fantastic! If you're considering it, definitely go for the half board—you won’t regret it. Location – We skied in Mottolino, which required taking the blue bus. One great advantage of the hotel’s location is that the bus is almost empty when heading to the gondola, as it drops most people before the hotel'sstation. On the way back, most skiers prefer other buses, so it’s not too as crowded as the other buses. Overall, it's a great location for skiing. A big thank you to Maurizio, Georgia, and Simon for an amazing week!

We liked the view. Especialy the view from the huge common balcony. The view is amaysing. Very unique. We liked very much the hotels yard, wich is very big and includes open swimmingpool, trails, trampolin, different sitting areas. I liked the indoor swimming pool which is big, clean and also has streams. The rooms are very nice snd spacious, but you have to be very careful about the room you get!!! We got a room in the basement, which was terrible. It looked like a room in a youth hostel. After complaining they moved us (in the day after) to a very nice room.

We loved everything about Hotel Steinbock! The hotel is in a great location right in Pontersina. Our room was full size with plenty of room. The public seating / lobby was cozy and relaxing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, with some of the best fresh baked breads we have eaten. The fondu stubli provided a great dinner experience, with very friendly and attentive wait staff.

Beautiful location, stunning lake and mountains. However, it's frightfully expensive to stay and to eat and in the shoulder season there's not much to do - no funicular or cable cars working. A good base for scenic train experiences. Very good convenience store at the station.

I liked scuol very much.

I liked scuol very much. There is so much to do and you get for free postbuses and train and gondola up the mountain. We stayed 4 days but could have stayed longer no problem, so many places to see. Went go Guarda, val sinestra, vulpera, gondola motta naluns. Sent. S charl,

There is a great local bakery : Bäckerei / Konditorei Piccolo (Bakery / Pastry).... we visited a couple of times to get filled rolls and drinks to take with us on trips up the mountains. The lady who works there was incredible helpful and friendly even though we had a slight language barrier with me only speaking English. Our fussy teen through the rolls were very tasty. The local buildings are full of history and a walk around the town provides interesting anecdotes to times gone by, written on several buildings. The wild flower meadows in June are beautiful and we found trips up into the mountains well worth it... they are spectacular in the summer.

very cosy nice village, with only hotels...restos and shops ! samnaun is an old smugglers village with tax free on liquor, perfume, ski equipment, cigarettes...but be carefull when leaving for the customs dept :) it is a rather quiet place with litlle apres ski, so we really liked that

Silvaplana is very small and quiet village: supermarket, bakery, ski shop and a couple of restaurants. Cross country ski trails are 10 min walk across the bridge and there are regular buses to take you around to nearby villages. It was perfect place for star gazing and having quality family time :)

A classic hotel with history, which alone makes it worth spending the night there. In addition, in a fantastic location that in the past was only accessible to the happy few. The hotel seems to have aged a bit, but the comfortable rooms, grandeur and views make it worth a visit. an excellent place to start mountain tours or bike tours and explore the Engadin.

St Moritz didn’t disappoint view wise- they were...

St Moritz didn’t disappoint view wise- they were spectacular. We even got a bit of snow on the mountain on the 2nd night. Due to it being low season almost all businesses were closed and so the atmosphere was as a result quite dull and almost lifeless. Given that there were decent numbers of tourists in town this was somewhat surprising.

Engadin is a beautiful area with lots to see and do (Skiing, Langlauf, Walks, Hikes, Cycling, Horse Racing, Ice Skating). Pontresina itself is well located, prettier than St Moritz but not as quaint as Silva Plana and Sils. Pontresina doesn't have ski links itself but its a 15min bus ride every 30mins to Celerina which connects to the St Moritz (Corviglia) ski area or another 10 mins on to the Corvatch ski area in Silva Plana (which I prefer as the snow tends to be better due to its aspect). Its about 1hr15 drive to Livigno in Italy if you want to get some cheaper shopping and ski in that area. Train links are also very good in the Engadin.

An excellent base for an activity holiday at the end of a...

An excellent base for an activity holiday at the end of a branch of the regional railway. The Guest card issued by the hotel gives you unlimited free bus/train travel within a specified area and one free trip up/down the mountain from the gondola station per day, allowing you to explore freely. Lots of well signposted walking trails (winter and summer) plus a small downhill ski area.
