The receptionist was very helpful and kind. He speaks fluent English. The accommodation was on point: "German" clean, very warm, spacious, bright, with a free of charge bar. The bed was very comfortable. The room is soundproof. A coffee machine is available in the dining area. Parking in front of the hotel is free of charge. Right next to a highway, restaurants, pharmacy, grocery shops, different types of shops.

Very nice room, clean, with great balcony. The building is brand new and well kept. The breakfast is exceptional - there is everything from pastries and sausages to fresh fruit and vegetables. The most pleasant aspect of our stay was the staff - namely Erika, who is the single most exceptional employee of the hotel!

This place was such a pleasant surprise. Staff is great, they are very kind and paying attention to the needs. Dinner had a local taste. Breakfast is really the best value for money, I didn't expect such a wide variety of buffet. The room was spacious, bed comfortable for a couple & a toddler, and pleasantly warm. Thanks a lot for everything, we had a pleasant transit trip.

We loved the location and I truely recomend it for family vacations. So much that on our way back from our eurotrip we choose to revisit this place, this time with a new host. And we weren't dissapointed. The offer was even better, also because we already new the place. The guy at the reception was very nice and has a lot of recommandations of activities and answered with a smile to all our questions and gave sugestions. I apreciated also the fact that we could check in earlyer, ealry morning in fact, and could enjoy more of our day here. The room was light, clean, well equiped and with a great view to the valey. The swiming pool, the restaurant and the kids park were very pleasant extra bonuses. We even got to see an outdoor movie for kids at the playground.

Fantastic location and excellent facilities - seemed extremely family friendly so will go back with my two kids in august. Also the active pass seems excellent to keep kids occupied - I spent the days by the pool and trail running so didn’t utilise the offer but great option with kids looking for activities to do and they are included in the stay

A decent small town with basic activities, well suited for the more senior traveller not interested in night activities. Neat and well kept with some lovely scenery. The localls have limited to no understanding of english. Many nice small restaurants and cafés around the town square. Lovely old churches to see as well.

Bodenmais is a quaint town on a hill. Joska Bodenmais fun to visit even though it’s a glorified shopping centre. Not far away Glas Glasdorf at Weinfurtner fabulous glass installations in a garden setting also another glorified glass shopping centre .

Sankt Englmar area was a lot of fun for hiking. There were many trails and routes to choose from. It is hilly country, but with spectacular views, wonderful scenery and friendly residents along the way (i.e. farmers). The village itself is very tiny with only one grocery store, one pharmacy and a handful of restaurants, baker and butcher. Opening hours are limited to those that are normal to life in a little village (i.e., no 7-22 h and limited Saturday hours).

The town itself is not really a tourist magnet and there aren't many sights to see in the town itself, except maybe for the glass factory and museum. But the position in the Bavarian forest makes it ideal for day trips, with and without kids. And for a lazy day, there's always the Stadtpark with the playground.

Cham is a good place to go to see historical Regensburg for the whole day, and the other day a historical centre of Cham-Janahof was also nice to go through. This hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, though there is no problem to reach it by car - some 5 km in the village close to Cham.

Deggendorf is a small Bavarian town on the river Danube,...

Deggendorf is a small Bavarian town on the river Danube, about halfway between Regensdorf and Passau, along the highway. It has a small historical center with beautiful buildings, churches and some really charming squares. I did not know about this city, before we stopped here for one night while traveling through Germany, but I am very glad that we did. I think that it can be explored in about half a day, as it is not a big city, but it is very clean, charming and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. If you ever find yourself nearby, I recommend stopping here for a few hours to see at least the main square and church. There is a very good pizza and pasta restaurant by the riverside, where they serve the probably the largest pizza I ever received in a restaurant. I definitely recommed checking that out, the name of the place is Laurin.

Sankt Englmar is small, and if you are looking for a busy place with lots to do at night, go somewhere else. But for its size it has a lot to offer, some nice restaurants and especially cafes, a good supermarket (Edeka), a great baker's with cakes, a church, and the Kurpark is great, with Kneipp bath, an outdoor swimming pond, and other things. There are many walks around which are easy to follow using the guide which you can get for free with the Erlebniskarte, which is great value. We like eating in Buglhof, as it is closest to Romantik Apartments, but the restaurant in the square is good too. This time we visited the WaldWipfelWeg, which is certainly worth a visit and we have been to the Xperium before, which is also great. The place is very peaceful and they have done a lot to make it a good place to visit, so enjoy.

The town of Cham looks like a typical Bavarian town, everything very neat, but it does not seem to have very much to offer. Its surroundings are really stunning, with the Bavarian forest and lots of scenic roads nearby.

Deggendorf is located approximately half way between Passau...

Deggendorf is located approximately half way between Passau and Regensburg and is somewhat of a gateway to the Bavarian Forest. It is a pleasant, well-presented town with easy public transport access, including a train to Plattling (on the main line between Regensburg and Passau). In itself it is not the most exciting place we have visited, but we chose it because of its central location between/access to the other 2 cities nearby.
