We stayed an extra night at Haus Stehlings, unfortunately the apartment (Monschau Suite) we stayed at on the previous days was already taken for that extra night. The room switch went smooth with an easy key swap by the entrance. This room (Tuchmacherzimmer) was a lot smaller than the Monschau Suite, but more than fine for the night! The room was clean and the bed was as comfortable as the one in the Monschau Suite. The refrigerator was very convenient as we had some food and drinks to keep cold before our journey home. Johannes and his staff are always friendly and easy to reach by phone or whatsapp. We’ve stayed in Monschau numerous times and we can’t help but come back to Haus Stehlings! The sound of the river right next to Haus Stehlings and the monumental atmosphere of the apartment complex are amazing. 100% recommend! The pictures are views from the window before and after the snow ❄️

Very well-equipped kitchen, even with cooking oil and spices It is made for short and long-term holidays, e.g. games are available. Location is perfect, near hiking and biking routes through the Eifel and near the swimming pool and restaurants. Parking is free and in front of or near the house. Bed linen and towels are offered for a small fee. If you like hard and/or smaller bed pillows and cotton bed linen, I suggest bringing your own.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Great flexibility to us, offering 2 rooms, not far from each other, as we needed. The breakfast was rich and quality food, good fit for a family. The bathrrom was very functional and convenient, in both rooms. The restaurant downstairs is certainly a plus, including the view to the Rursee. The parking space including charger for electric bikes is a nice plus.

Its calm nature and simple but clean and modern house. There are hiking trails nearby and couple of tasty restaurants. The hotel was super nice to us and sent us small child toys we forgot. The kid will be delighted to get them back, he already thought he will never see those toys again.

We had a very comfortable night during the bike packing tour there! The room was nice and cozy, with a view of the hills and the lake. There was a self-check in with flexible time. We went for dinner by bike to the town nearby.

Interesting town to visit - small, picturesque. Glad to have gone but would not return - no need. Most shops and restaurants ONLY take cash! Frustrating because on our arrival (on a Sunday) the town’s only two cash machines were out of order! We were not the only people affected by this. The shop and restaurant owners really need to sort this because they must be losing business - mad!

Simmerath would seem to be the district , not the village...

Simmerath would seem to be the district , not the village where this hotel was located , but the area was forested and hilly and was an ideal location for hiking, as well as other outside activities. The scenery is very nice and reminiscent of alpine areas

Nice place to stay on brilliant location. Nice view over the mountains. Staff is very friendly, atmosphere is quiet, breakfast is good enough. Rooms are very clean and bed was very good. Only pillows are very soft and good be improved.

It is a small and quiet village of Golbach near Kall.

It is a small and quiet village of Golbach near Kall. It is excellent for nature walks and outings to the cities of Trier and Aachen which have both Unesco World Heritage properties. You can visit also the Hautes Fagnes on the border of Belgium and Germany to enjoy splendid nature scenes and wonderful birdwatching. On my arrival I HEARD AND SAW a group of Cranes flying over WOW and again WOW

Hellenthal is a wonderful place for hiking, surrounded by the beautiful, typical Eifel landscape. There are also great restaurants nearby, and with a car you can easily reach several swimming lakes and other attractions in the area.

Beutiful area and scenery. The boat trip around the larger lake was stunning. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Lots of winding roads but lots of slow speed areas and speed traps. High number of motorbikes around here.

Nice pretty old houses around little river. Good pub. Rotes Haus museum. Too awkward for car. When trying to sort out how to get into the so-called hotel, agressive local made a fuss of me leaving the car in a space he claimed was for residents.

It is a place to connect with nature, you sleep early and wake up with sunshine, nice area to breath, walk, cycle and hike. I dont recommend this place for people who likes to do party and make noises as the sleep time is 10pm and you are not allowed to make party.

Heimbach is small German town within the Eifel National Park...

Heimbach is small German town within the Eifel National Park. Very good destination for easy to medium hikes, but also popular with bikers and cyclists. Close-by there is a dam lake were you can do plenty of water sport activities(sailing, SUP, kayaking, swimming, boat trips). The scenery is quite unique. In Heimbach central you can find many traditional German houses it has an old town vibe, with many places to sit inside but without a "touristy" vibe. There is castle which is well worth visiting and also an art academy which hosts art events every now and then. The restaurants and breakfast places in the centrum offer traditional German dishes which basically means lots of meat and bear. Because of Cologne's close proximity you can find many places with Kölsch beer on the tap, which is quite different from the most common Pils types. Perfect destination for families who like outdoor activities. It is said the the national park has very little light pollution so stargazing can also be a fun thing to do.

Cozy little town with trails to many villages around.

Cozy little town with trails to many villages around. The Eifel region is incredible and, since I love being in the nature, was the perfect place for me to be. The village is very small and around a lake. There are many places to stay over and some restaurants. Minuspoint: no supermarkets/bakeries. But within a 10min drive you can find anything.
