Loved almost everything about this newly opened hotel. The biggest challenge is getting to it, as it is located at the top of town, so there are some very narrow streets (one corner in particular) you need to carefully navigate to get to it. Also know that there is currently no signage saying you are at the front door of the hotel - it looks like just another residence. However once you've arrived, all is good! Staff is excellent, super comfortable bedding, nice large rooms, and the huge jetted tubs in every room are just amazing. I'd definitely stay here again!!

Breakfast was super! Place was nicely renovated, very cozy and relaxing, even with other guests around. Outdoor kitchen (with some cold drinks) and pool area was really great! Guido & Iris did make our stay very comfortable, and are wonderful hosts. We got great info about the neighborhood and restaurant recommendations. All was super, it was nice meeting their dog and family. For sure we are going back!

Extraordinary feeling of remote and privacy although just 60 km from Malaga airport and less than 50m to restaurant with great menu (you should put that menu together with property photos - huge advantage). Very authentic and warm feeling like visiting grandma + pool:-), total privacy, easy to find and check in, helpful owners, good hikes all around and amazing town just minutes of driving (or a walking distance). And really lovely company of hungriest kittens in the world - kids enjoyed that a lot:-).

When we arrived it was a cold night and the heat came out of the aircon unit easily! The instructions sent ahead of time were clear, the room was cute and clean! The city is quite small so even though we were on the end of it it was an easy walk to the rest of town and good restaurants! We stayed in the two twin bed room the night before the Caminito del Rey and it was the perfect stopover! The surrounding area is stunning. We found street parking right outside the Hostel.

Overall quality and warmth of hospitality provided by the owners. Besides it’s peaceful, a bit remote but with direct access to various trails as well as outside restaurants. Breakfast and dinner were excellent with lots of attention to guests. Felt very homey and relaxed.

A small town north of Malaga with a lot of character & history. If you plan your trip at the right time, you can enjoy the Feria (Festival) of Alora, which is great for experiencing how the locals celebrate life. This year it was in the first week of August. If you are driving, be ready for driving on hills and around a lot of tight bends!

We liked the friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the town. There are plenty of good quality and reasonably priced café bars and restaurants. It is well situated for hikers and bikers. The Caminita del Rey is a short distance away and Ronda is also a possibility to visit for a day trip.

El Chorro, for me- and many others- is just hiking the Carmenito del Rey. The signing and instructions for getting to the walk could have been better, but we all made it and had a great time. I usually avoid guided tours bc I don't like them, but the official site would not sell me an independent ticket, so I had no choice but to go with a guide. Nico, our guide, was just perfect! He stopped at few places to tell us something interesting, helped us all get great pictures, and most importantly, was friendly, but did not talk constantly! Give that young man a raise.

Carratraca is a typical small village near the mountains at 46 km from Malaga and the sea. It used to be famous for its thermal facilities and has a 5* luxe hotel but unfortunately closed after COVID.. There are 2 local supermarkets, 2 restaurants and a café. From Carratraca there are several beautiful walkings you can make in the woods. And El Chorro where the famous Camininto del Rey starts, is only 11km away..

We selected the property as we were visiting our family who live a few doors away. The property was huge, set over 4 floors in total, everything was clean, modern and well thought out. Neighbourhood is quiet, pleasant and has amazing views over the mountains. We ate at Kontiki a restaurant 5 mins walk form the property, the food here is amazing, would highly recommend. We went to visit the Malaga Christmas lights about 45 mins away, wow!!!!! and we went to see the lakes a short 15 min drive away, breathtaking views here. This is a place to come and reset, so relaxing, so traditional and so friendly.

Alora is a lovely town to walk around, however it was very hot when we visited so we decided to drive up to the castle! The castle was beautiful and the view amazing, but the drive down involved navigating very, very narrow and steep streets!!, not for the faint hearted!

Ardales is a quiet and authentic small town, peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings. Travelers often choose Ardales for its proximity to Caminito del Rey and the nearby lakes, making it a good base for nature lovers and short stays. The town is calm, welcoming, and less touristy than larger destinations, ideal for those looking to relax and explore the area at a slower pace. It’s a good choice for travelers who want an Andalusian village experience.

El Chorro is a great place to stay to access the area climbing. Many climbing areas accessable on foot. The town has limited services. There is no grocery store and only two restaurants. The town is also very touristy with people coming by the bus loads for the Camino del Rey.

The hosts who run this place are lovely people and they have clearly put a LOT of effort into the property itself but also all the little touches around the house. I was honestly blown away - it's the best place I've ever stayed in and I'd love to stay there again. * Comfy beds * Two PROPER double bedrooms (not one proper one and one shitty one) * Beautiful decor and furnishings * Great kitchen with a dishwasher - tabs provided * Fantastic shower * Has a bath * THE WOODBURNER in the living room - this is a top quality pellet-burner - automated when turned on, no smoke, no hassle * The hosts left us oranges from their orchard, and a bottle of wine * Balcony with great views * Balcony had table and chairs, and comfy loungers too * Living room and kitchen both open onto the balcony via huge glass doors * Nice TV * Dead quiet location - no problems with noise during the day nor when going to sleep * Fast WiFi It's hard to find fault but being a property in south Spain, like all properties there, the floor is cold during the winter - bring slippers or other footwear to wear around the house if this is a problem for you.
