The location is excellent, providing guests with quick, walkable, access to central Angers, as well as to the Metro for farther journeys. The rooms and property itself were very clean and well thought out. The beds were large and very comfortable; and the entire hotel, including the rooms, were very clean. We also appreciated the daily access to coffee, tea, and water provided by a small "bistro" station in the hallways of each floor. Definitely a nice touch. Blvd Foch is quite a large and busy street, but the hotel rooms are "double-windowed," which makes the outside street virtually inaudible when inside the room. This is a great touch because such windows are very expensive.

After originally booking Maison de Gaspard which was not for a family of 4 people we were so happy to find Les Terraces de Saumur! Comfortable beds, great staff, and delicious meal!! (The 'doubles' are larger than a Queen in the U.S. We are used to a King and the size was fine. We got 2 rooms since kids had to share a double bed, too.) I didn't expect such a good meal at a hotel, but of course it is France! Huge spread for breakfast and although I am wary of machines that make coffee the ones they have actually make a very good cappuccino. Perfect stay. Responsive staff. Very happy. Pool is nice and heated. TIP: if you are in Saumur Sunday and Monday pay for the meals at the hotel because we found out that all restaurants/cafes, etc are closed and only serve drinks on these days.

Our first impressions skepticism turned into complete satisfaction by the end of our stay - in fact we even decided to stay an extra night. The location was handy to our events in Montjean, the grounds were nicely maintained, the room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were delightful. What more can you ask for from a hotel stay? And did I mention...the weather was perfect too! Oh, and they even had a charging station for our electric car. Bam!

Family of 4 (2 kids:10 & 8) - We loved Chateau De Jalesnes and its grounds. The kids absolutely loved roaming around picking fruit, playing giant chess & jenga and having a go at table tennis. Their favorite was the large pool with great views on to the Chateau and surrounding grounds and fields. The owners and staff were attentive and friendly. We stayed in the clock tower which was marvelous, with lots of space, high ceilings and amazing views. Overall it was an amazing exceptional stay in a very relaxed atmosphere.

Just about everything. Dinner at l’Orangerie was a seminal life experience. The chef was brilliant, the chef’s wife/Maitre ‘D was informative, funny and just an absolute delight. I had the best Cod fish of my life. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The building and landscaping were stunning.

Amazing and beautiful city !

Amazing and beautiful city ! The castle, the city and his old town, the places to eat and bars. This is a very young city (many universities here) so a lot of young in the streets partying. I would definitely recommand visiting Angers !

We had a great stay with Jerome & Ye.

We had a great stay with Jerome & Ye. The accommodation is ideally located in the centre of Cholet 5 minutes walk from the main square with a car park with VERY reasonable rate next door. We ate at Le Grande Cafe and La Conti Brasserie as we were too tired from busy days at Puy du Fou to walk any further!

Saumur is beautiful place with plenty of bars and...

Saumur is beautiful place with plenty of bars and restaurants, with live music while we were there in the square, there is plenty of parking which means having a car isn’t a chore, If you park in the free car park by the Calvalry museum it’s a 5 minute stroll into the centre.

What a strange and special place!

What a strange and special place! I loved walking around in the abbey after it closed to the public. It having such a long and multifaceted history made it quite special. I was sad that the restaurant was closed, as the restaurants in town were a bit (!) disappointing. The room was a bit warm (right under the roof) but cooled down perfectly at night. The breakfast location is one of the most spectacular settings I've enjoyed. Absolutely beautiful. HUGE shout-out to whomever tends the gardens at Fontevraud in general. One bad part was the coffee, it cannot be overstated how terrible the coffee (machines) are. That was a bit sad. Other than that 10/10 recommend spending the extra money on breakfast.

Unfortunately when we arrived at this walled Chateau the gates were closed and the doorbell was broken. We were unable to obtain access even though we tried for over an hour. The telephone number had a message in French which we could not understand and we were unable to gain any response to our emails. Only later in the evening were we able to establish contact after we had made other arrangements. They were apologetic and arranged a refund. From the outside through the railings and gate it looked like a very nice place, I wish we had been able to stay there.

Doue is a place to visit with a plan in mind.

Doue is a place to visit with a plan in mind. We visited for Les Journees de la Rose. We visited the Zoo and le Mystere des Faluns. But we misjudged Sunday evening closure of the hotel restaurant. Which rather took the edge off the Sunday. We were lucky that Le 18 restaurant offered us an early table.

The city had many beautiful buildings to see and places to visit - one of our favourites from the many cities we have visited. The tourist office was extremely helpful and the city has a one and a half hour (without stops) blue line to follow to see all the sights.

This is a wonderful place to stay. We loved it.

This is a wonderful place to stay. We loved it. Set in beautiful countryside and very peaceful. The dinners were amazing. We had a table to ourselves in the conservatory the first night and enjoyed superb food and wine. The second night we dined with everyone else and it was a great experience.

The centre of town is brilliant.

The centre of town is brilliant. Very good idea for self-walking tours with the blue line through the city. Although I love history , I wasnt too impressed with the tapestry , but the castle is amazing with great gardens and imposing building. The promenade leading to the castle is beautiful and worth a walk in the evenings. Good mixture of branded and independent shops. Try Terra Botanica , great day to spend Sundays when the rest of the town is closed

We stayed 2 nights in Cholet. first night, we had a short visit in the town centre. 2nd day, Puy du Fou for the full day, a Must See. on the way back we visited the splendid Parc of Maulévrier, the biggest Japanese parc in Europe.
