Everything about our stay was spectacular. The house is very comfortable and beautifully designed, the views are simply amazing, and there are plenty of scenic walks and drives in the area. Breakfasts are delicious and creative, with a great variety of options. Both Bill and Maggie are warm, welcoming, very helpful and fascinating to listen to. They have lots of great stories and tips to share and know their community really well.

Our multi-generational family group had two of the suites and they were perfect for us. Everything is very up-to-date, the suites were clearly decorated by a professional and make excellent use of local products (tweed drapes, for example), kitchen is very well-equipped with all needed for preparing meals if that is what you choose, beds are very comfortable. All-in-all excellent and very good value.

Perfect location, close to centre of Stornoway. Easy to park outside free. Louie the owner was very hospitable and helpful. Communication was excellent. A lovely touch was the Prosecco and refreshments. Room was well decorated and cozy with a view across to the harbour. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay here. Having our own bedrooms and a kitchen for a few days while we explored the island was just superb. It was great to stay in a proper home in the middle of all the travelling we were doing and we were able to relax and enjoy all the more for it.

It's the best place to sleep in Tarbert. Staff super kind and professional. Delicious breakfast. Nice room: modern and cosy. Dinner at the pub was ok. Location-wise is the perfect place to enjoy the magnificent sandy beaches of Harris.

This property was delightful. Spotlessly clean. Hosts were super helpful and kind. Location is about a 25 minute walk to the town centre, but that was manageable. A few restaurants nearby for dinner, which were also good.

It is a lovely entrance to the Western Isles.

It is a lovely entrance to the Western Isles. Whilst understanding the benefits to the town and the Isles of having cruise ships. I have some fear for the likely changes to the island and the town specifically.

We stayed here because we were getting the ferry the next day, but its a beautiful little village and in retrospect I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else its a great base for exploring. The Nook & Scranny shop and the Pierhouse café/restaurant were particular favourites of ours.

Uist is such an interesting island - mostly water with lots of causeways that shut down in bad weather. Lochboisdale is only tiny so this rating has to be about the whole of Uist. Dinner at the Langass Lodge (North Uist) was delicious. Great island for archeological features. The island is easy driving once you get used to single lane roads with lots of waving involved!

The Uist Islands were lovely. We were very fortunate to catch the North Uist Highland Games in mid-July. This is an area for gentle walks and birding. Dining options are good but limited. Definitely a place to unwind.

Lots to do- look into visiting the north & south area- all are within a comfortable drive. Get a map that shows the highlights- nature preserve, beaches, distilleries, standing stones, castle ruins, Uist Soap, restaurants like Politician, Charlie’s, Westford- all worth a trip. Stayed in Uist Travel Accommodation- clean, well stocked, ideal location- loved Peter & Archie (proprietors)- couldn’t ask for more! Went above & beyond to assist & accommodate! Will definitely plan a return trip!

This review asks for Lochs review but it is actually the Isles of Harris and Lewis. We loved our time there and should have planned to be there longer. Beautiful area with much to do. Must see - Calanais Stones, Carloway Broach, Gearrannan Blackhouse village and Luskentyre Beach. Dinner at the boatshed in Stornoway was excellent. Reserve ahead or you likely won't find a restaurant to eat.

It’s an ideal location to explore the island with a fascinating history. There’s a cafe, but I didn’t try it. It’s a place going through a change now, with a lot of young trees growing and some pretty gardens.

Isle of Harris Brewery is an excellent place to eat & drink. An Clachan is a very well stocked store with an amazing range of quality gifts and practical items upstairs. Borrisdale Tweed is well worth a visit for quality home furnishings. Kilda Cruises are great.

As a non Gaelic speaker, I found the street names difficult to read. I appreciate that Gaelic was the cultural language, as expected, but for example Stag Road was short, the gaelic name was not!! It was a bit difficult to navigate initially rouns the harbour area as the tourist maps did not always indicate all the strert names

The house is wonderful as are the people who look after it - nothing is too much trouble if you have a query or need help with something The property is in a little place called Maraig rather than in Tarbert which is about 15 minuts drive away so trust the post code when it takes you off the Tarbert road!
