"It's a nice little town with a marina, newly updated boardwalk with a nice splash pad for kids and a beautiful park. There's some great wellness hotels in the area, which is the main attraction for us. There's also a party beach for the younger crowd in season. Siofok is also a great spot to hop on a boat and visit Tihany across the pond, or just go for a leisure boat ride. It's a well equipped town for visitors comfort."

"Lovely town with lots of flowers and trees, very clean, tidy and safe even in the evening. Not loud even in the evening was very quiet near the beach. Preferred Kisfaludy beach (strand). Less crowded and a bit cheaper, also more facilities and better quality/selection of food. Borcsa restaurant has great food and service."

"Beautiful location, amazing views of the lake, the Rege coffeehouse is a must to do. There are hiking trails in Tihany which take a few hours to complete and it is possible to cross the lake with the ferry to the other side easily. Fabulous location for a short weekend trip close to Budapest."

"An unexpectably charming town on lake Balaton. There are some amazing parks, the whole town is very clean and full of flowers. People are friendly and many speak at least some English or German. Not all restaurants are open in October, but there are many places where you can taste amazing local foods. The place is a heaven for people who love museums, and the church and the castle are breathtaking. If you like cycling or water sports then you will find many interesting activities by the lake where you can also find a Ferris wheel and see the town from a little different perspective."

Overall, the picture looks wonderful, but when it comes to the details, there are many shortcomings. The hotel itself is beautiful, and for children it is truly a paradise. However, despite having a half-board package, the first surprise came at our very first dinner. We arrived about an hour before the restaurant closed, and there was almost no food left. Even worse, drinks were not included and had to be purchased separately. There was not even a basic water station available. For a five-star hotel, charging guests even for water during dinner is, in our opinion, a major disappointment and a serious flaw. We were also very disappointed that both at breakfast and dinner, despite the official serving hours, many dishes were already empty 30–60 minutes before closing and were not being replenished. We had to ask staff for basic things such as a spoon, and even had to request a banana for our child because they had already been removed. The watermelon looked old and poorly presented, and overall the food appeared to be of rather low quality. The service throughout the hotel was very weak, especially considering the hotel's category and prices. In addition, almost everything in the hotel is very expensive. The resort has great potential and beautiful facilities, but unfortunately the level of service and attention to guests falls far below what we would expect from a five-star property.

Staying here felt like stepping into a fairy tale, but with Wi-Fi and a excelent breakfast. The place has so much charm — everything is spotless, beautifully preserved, and the staff make you feel truly welcome.
