"Paris can wait! Go to Budapest! Just pack comfortable walking shoes, get familiar with the public transportation system, and plan carefully before you go. This means buying tickets to popular attractions online & well in advance, researching all the interesting sites in order to avoid missing out, and studying the layout of the city with a map so you can maximize your time well spent. You will not run out of things to do in Budapest, but unless your stay is at least two weeks, you _will_ run out of time, so before you go... research and prioritize! Tip: download the Bolt app to your phone and use it to order taxis in Budapest; they're relatively cheap, but hailing a cab off the street will result in getting ripped off, so beware! Visit Matthias Church, the Fisherman's Bastion, Gellert Hill, the baths, Liberty Square, City Park (with all its museums & monuments), and the Central Market. Take a night time cruise on the Danube, just get there early for the best seats and don't forget to take pictures! Eat dobos torte, palacsinta, langos, paprikas, and gulyasleves at the many restaurants, there are so many good ones to choose from (but Gundel, Ruszwurm, and Szazeves stand out among them). Tip: public restrooms are _not_ free, so keep some forint coins on hand as you explore the city! One last recommendation: if nothing else, visit the Terror Museum. It's an attraction unique to Budapest, unlike any other museum in any other city anywhere. You will learn more about the spirit of the city of Budapest from the Terror Museum than you will from probably any other of its attractions (except maybe Parliament or Buda Castle). Oh, and if time allows... spend a day in Eger (a beautiful historic town 2 hours away) you won't regret it!"

"Passau is a beautiful town where the Donau River joins the other two rivers. It is also the starting point for many Donay cruises. Walking around the town, visiting the Castle, or just strolling around the river walks was an amazingly relaxing experience. We arrived and departed by train, and the station is 10 minutes walking from the city center. It was the place where our river cruise started and ended, and we chose to prolong our stay in town for two nights. We recommend dining early since most of the restaurants will close. For lunch everything is open, but finding a restaurant for dinner might be a struggle. I recommend the restaurant at StadHotel Passau, it is open from breakfast to dinner and they serve typical Bavarian food."

"Lovely old town with a great position on the Danube. We spent 3 hours sitting on the comfortable chairs right on the river. Took our lunch there to eat on the river followed by a gelato. Great old traditional restaurant - Adlerbräu which has been in business since 1621. Terrific town square too. The night we were there they had a comedian on a floating boat (moored!) so there was lots of activity."

"Melk is a beautiful town along the Danube river. Its small, quaint, and historic. We spent a day in Melk and a day riding bikes in the Wachau valley. The abbey in Melk is beautiful. Definitely take the tour! We rode bikes to Krems and rode the bus back to Melk. We rented bikes from Wachau Touristik located on Pioneerstrasse 1 down by the river. They were fantastic to work with and had our reservation ready when we got there early in the morning. Melk is easily accessible by OBB train and on the route to Salzburg. You can easily walk to downtown Melk and most of the hotels and pensions right from the train station."

The hotel was brand new as advertised and felt very clean and elegant, especially for that price. They let us check in early and the 12 pm checkout is wonderful! The staff was super friendly and helpful and seemed excited to be opening and showing everyone a good time. The bed was very comfy and we stayed on the top floor and enjoyed the huge skylight. We'd absolutely stay again!

it is a different concept of a hotel. spacious rooms with kitchenette and separate bathroom. when I was in the room I could not hear any noise from outside. coffee was free and provided by the reception staff. every evening there a light show displayed in the inner court of the hotel, excellent idea.

This is a new hotel opened in August 2024 and that is why I chose to stay in it. So everything about the hotel is quite perfect for a 4 star hotel. Just to point out the good stuff - The hotel and the rooms are new and very clean. The bathroom fittings are top class - I have always had a weakness for large shower heads. Breakfast is up to standards. Staff are courteous and very helpful. A special mention for the young lady with glasses who works in the restaurant- always smiling and helpful . The location is excellent, right in the city center.
