"We had never heard of PadangBai and only visited to catch the ferry to Nusa Lebongan. Pleasantly surprised to find this small town offering good restaurants, live music (Omani Omang), good diving (Absolute Dive), and pretty scenery. The negative is the amount of plastic garbage in the sea and on the beaches. I don’t know if this is common to the region, but I strongly recommend the communities make a concerted effort to clean this up. The plastic garbage was appalling and detracted from the ambience."

"The best restaurant in Indonesia is the Asri in this hotel. The food is outrageously good and quite inexpensive! The hotel is gorgeous with great views from every cottage. The service is amazing and the staff quickly learn your name and what you like/don't like. I was not bothered by insects at this hotel at all. Highly recommend for a splurge!"

I recently stayed at this hotel and everything was overall great. The service was smooth, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I also want to mention that two girls from the reception Ade and Dewi helped us a lot during our stay especially when we had a last-minute issue. They handled it quickly and professionally, which we really appreciated.

Amazing experience to have a whole private island for ourselves! The space is so unique and beautiful so me and my girlfriend extended our stay. The staff was very helpful and a great breakfast. Don't miss to swim in the natural pool in the river. This hotel is new but it will become very popular soon we are sure. 10 out of 10!!

The view was amazing, and the staff as well. I was unfortunately sick before I arrived and stayed there to get better, the staff was super nice and even brought be some free hot ginger tea to get better. We also really liked the room. It's very clean and close to the Besakih temple. The village nearby is also nice to see with the small local market. Atmosphere was very calm and peaceful and it was very nice to have the possibility to have breakfast onsite :)

We had a wonderful stay here at Papahan Bali. Very nice staff, the rooms are very clean. The place was so peaceful and quiet, lots of mountain views. There are also lots of restaurants, spa around the area. The staffs are well mannered and always smiling. We will definitely go back! ❤️

Katut the property manager met us upon arrival to give an overview of the property and hand over the room keys. Each villa had a lock and key associated with it. Each villa had an open air bathroom and shower which was beautiful and an A/C unit inside. Free kayaks were available to use which we paddled over to another bay for some amazing snorkeling. There is also decent snorkeling right off the beach in front of the property. Breakfast was served every morning with fresh fruit, eggs, toast and pancakes. Katut was able to arrange poolside messages which was a wonderful experience. We had our own private pool and loungers. This is a beautiful and unique property, especially if you're looking for some deep relaxation and romantic spot with some isolation. We ate at the Galang restaurant across the street which was good and got food delivered most other nights.

Wonderful stay, luxury experience in a hotel that gives back to the local community. Everything is organized to profit local business and support Sidemen as a whole (the gift shop gives back part of the money, there are activities that promote the area, you can donate..). The hotel itself is stunning, comfortable to say the least with a real high end experience The staff is incredibly kind and helpful To top it all off the restaurant was unbelievable, from breakfast to dinner Can’t wait to come again

An excellent, serene resort with various villas in a large, exquisite garden, overlooking a valley. The rooms were very good with a covered, spacious, outside bathroom, in which, to our surprise, they had prepared a welcoming floral bath for us. The staff was very kind and supportive. A shuttle was available to take us further up the area. Various complimentary and optional activities were available. Sidemen is beautiful, we had lovely encounters with the local people.

The property is stunning! This is my second time staying here and we wish we could have stayed longer. The food was great, staff were super friendly and kind, everything was totally perfect. The room has a really cute balcony where you can watch the sunset or sip your coffee early in the morning. Bed was comfortable enough and the place was super clean and well kept. Definitely recommend:)

For Jemeluk and surrounding areas: A. Incredible snorkelling and diving right from the beach. B. Excellent food options such as Warung Amed Sea View. C. Don't miss live band play at Bobo's Mondays & Thursdays 18.30 - 21.30. D. Sunset at 18.30 and almost everything is closed by 21.30-22:00. E. Visit Solaluna Mart if there's something you are missing from other mini markets. F. Apotek BWF Prasasti Amed offers a greater variety of medical supplies just in case. G. Dive Concepts SSI was our preffered dive center at Lembongan and although we did not try their Amed department (mainly because we spent our days snorkelling), they are excellent proffesionals highly recommended. H. Always buy fresh fruit from local ventors and support the community by trying to fill your needs with the local market options :)

Great place to relax. Sunrise at Mount Batur is a must do! Follow it up with a dip at the natural hot springs. You can rent a scooter or call for a taxi to move around. Grab is not popular here as they prefer promoting locals for business.

Unfortunately the foreshore was under major reconstruction so limited access to the beach . Loved a place called Vincent’s,a restaurant with excellent French food and jazz music. My sister and i did a perfume work shop at Aura, it was lots of fun and we got to create and take home our own unique scents . Would have like more time to explore the area and is a good base for visiting other cultural activities.

A little village with one main street. Lots of diving opportunities. There was a 3 day festival happening when we were here that had a night market and dancing, including a fire dance. We got to mingle with the locals, kind folk, which was nice. It's a pretty easy scoot to some of the temples, rice fields, waterfalls, beaches, and attractions in the area. Decent local restaurants, good massages, good accessible shore dives. Easy enough to find a scooter rental for 70k-85k per day, ask the owner of where you're staying. During our stay in late October, there was a lot of haze in the air (maybe from burning?) so unfortunately, there weren't good sunrises or sunsets.

Selat is amazing for anyone who wants a more authentic...

Selat is amazing for anyone who wants a more authentic Balinese experience but also wants to experience natural beauty and not miss out on luxury accommodation. There's not really any shopping or many high end restaurants for tourists as it's a real locals village but that stuff isn't too far away and it keeps the prices right down. Amazing accommodation and food extremely good value. A great place to stay if you plan on visiting Mt Agung or Lempuyang Temple (Gate of Heaven) as they're like 3h from Ubud.

We have been to Seraya many times but we have not stayed at...

We have been to Seraya many times but we have not stayed at Shunyata Villas before. We did not leave the resort in our four night stay as we already know the area and really wanted to relax and make the most of the beautiful location, pool, meals etc. Seraya is a very quiet area and not very touristy at all and that is our attraction to the place. We do not come here to shop or go out a lot but to unwind and relax. There are of course many interesting villages to discover and Amed is just around the corner. Worth a visit!

We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

Amed is the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway, both day and night. It is also an excellent choice for couples and families who enjoy sea and water activities. Within a 1–2 hour drive, you can explore many beautiful attractions and experience the natural beauty of the surrounding area. A wide variety of local and international restaurants are also available throughout Amed, offering something to suit every taste.

Sidemen is an area located in northern Bali that’s closer to the historic temples than other places. (Still, the trip can sometimes take up to an hour.) It’s a lovely place to relax, thanks to its natural beauty and tranquility. It’s near Besakih Temple, and other sites are also within a relatively accessible distance. Note: In this area, I recommend renting a car with a driver for the day instead of using Grab or Gojek, as taxis often refuse to provide service at the app’s listed price, claiming they won’t be able to find another customer on the return trip.
