We loved this place: it was probably the nicest (and most spacious) room during our 4-week journey in Japan. The staff was very friendly. The bar/kitchen staff was exceptionally nice and prepared the best coffee we got in Japan. The traditional Japanese-style breakfast set was also delicious. We stayed one night in Onomichi as a starting point for the biking tour Shimanami Kaido, and we can only recommend it.

Staff were friendly and so accommodating; there was adequate space to store bags prior to check-in; there were lots of toiletries and items of convenience; the view was pleasant looking out over the hills; the location was so handy being right above the train station.

What an exceptional place to stay and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The Hotel is not far too far from Hiroshima Train Station so after getting off the bullet train, an easy bus ride or taxi. It is also not too far from the Hiroshima Pease Memorial, so very accessible. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and extremely welcoming. We were located on the 16th floor and had fantastic views across Hiroshima. The room was larger than expected, had everything we could have wanted and was absolutely beautiful. The bar area is amazing with a great selection of cocktails. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, could not have been better nor provided more options (you just want to keep eating). No expense has been spared to make this an amazing world class hotel. We really felt pampered. I do however have a negative.....I wish we had stayed here longer (we only had one night). They do really look after you and I cannot recommend this Hotel enough.

A clean room with a good WIFI. The hotel had a really nice Onsen as well. The lounge next to it had an extensive manga collection (all in Japanese). I didn't pay for the breakfast, but kinda wish I did, since it looked really nice (it was 11 EUR extra).

The property was gorgeous, so well designed with modern touches but a traditional feel. We stayed in both junior suites and the maisonette and all were beautifully designed and decorated. The maisonette was two floors so could be tough for older people. The staff was friendly and helpful and made our group feel so welcome and comfortable. The food was amazing and the chef was lovely, chatting with our group each night and kindly tweaking the menu whenever needed for the picky people in our group. I can see this ryokan becoming very quickly widely recognized for its outstanding quality, design, and service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yoruya and I hope to stay here again someday.

Very clean comfortable place with simple modern design. We stayed in the second floor room and love the balcony, where there was a chair to sit and enjoy the quiet neighbourhood. No front desk check-in just use pin sent by email few days before stay to access room. The property garden was beautiful and great atmosphere overall.

I was travelling with my husband. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location at the bay, the food at the fantastic restaurant with a wonderful view. They have a great buffet breakfast and a very good dinner or lunch buffet. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we loved so much the onsen. Very convenient the ferry to Miyajima just in front of the hotel. I would absolutely reccomand. There is also a regular bus to down-town city just in front of the hotel.

Miyajima island is a must....allow plenty of time to enjoy the deer, food, shops, ropeway and walks. Catch the streetcar from outside Hiroshima station to Miyajima ferry. Station to the ferry Y240, ferry Y300. streetcar takes about 1hour 50mins . Ferry 15mins. Good Okonomiyaki (Japanese vegetable pancake) in Hiroshima and Miyajima. Take a box of tissues if you visit the Peace Museum...so sad to see what horror humans are capable of inflicting on one another! So much more to see and do in Hiroshima.

Tottori is a great city!

Tottori is a great city! I think you may need a car to get the most out of it, but there are many beautiful places to visit and it's not very expensive when compared to major Japanese cities. The sand dunes are well known, but Lake Koyama is also gorgeous and has a lovely garden and park on the east side. There are also many places to see cherry blossoms in spring, like Yamata Sports Park. I also think the city center has some great locations. It's a little small, but there is a public zoo in the middle of the city near the station that has a friendly Cockateel named Kibatan. Say hello to him! There is also a burger shop nearby called Banbi that has the best burgers in Japan, in my opinion. Check it out if you have time!

The temple walk is a must if you are visiting Onomichi.

The temple walk is a must if you are visiting Onomichi. It starts at Jiko-ji temple and goes through 25 old temples in the area, including the ones of the seven buddhas tour. Got all the goshuin from these, which was a nice souvenir for myself. You can also take the ropeway to the top of Saikokuji mountain during the tour, which spares you of too many steps during the walk. There were still quite a lot. Afterwards you could walk along the Hondori Shopping street to get some refreshments and local souvenirs. What I would have enjoyed is visiting the other side of the river (?) but I didn't have time for that. I'm sure there is also stuff to do, and apparently the ferries run quite well so it is not too much of a hassle. A restaurant I absolutely loved was きっちゃ初(朝ごはん屋), which serves breakfast on some days and dinner on others. I only had the dinner, but it was hands down the best Japanese food I had during my whole time of staying in Japan. The owner is lovely and the food was tasteful and light, Japanese home cooking at its finest. It was a little bit difficult to find as it is located in a hidden alley, but it is definitely worth it.

Izumo was incredible!!! I did a day hike to the top of Mt. Daisen which is the tallest mountain of the Tottori Prefecture. It was so beautiful! The light house, Hinomisaki Shrine and the Taishacho Kizukikita beach were incredible. I got there just in time to hear the drums playing and the sunset. I visited the Taishaaraki Post Office and old train station. Another day, I took a boat ride to watch the sunset, again. I also visited the Matsue Castle, which you can go inside to admire the beautiful structure and the views from the 3rd floor. I also took a boat ride around the Matsue Castle known as Horikawa Meguri or Horikawa Pleasure Boat. So much to do! The food was incredible, you got to have some Soba noddles!
