Surprisingly delightful stay. Simple, yet fresh and very comfortable. Nice vibe. Worried unnecessary about the lack of a restaurant and breakfast served. Don't worry. Just plan accordingly. You are probably heading out early morning anyway. Free coffee and shared kitchen. Mini-mart down the street. Wonderful Neapolitan pizza from wood fired oven close by. Fantastic beds and pillows! Small rooms but super practical layout. Fantastic base for exploring the Daisetsuzan!

Really nice and traditional ryokan, in one of the most beautiful parks in Hokkaido! Staff was absolutely amazing, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable! Rooms are big and very spacious, and the onsen is very nice aswell. Also had a nice lounge with free snacks and drinks!

I stayed here for two nights.

I stayed here for two nights. I took my young children and traveled to Fukiage Open Air Onsen, Shirahige Waterfall, Aoiike (Blue Pond), Farm Tomita, and Kamifurano. We met many kind people: - The Uber driver who waited for us when we visited the Onsen, the waterfall, and Blue Pond. He offered us umbrellas when it was rainy and took the children's backpacks from them so they could walk more easily. He also dropped us off at a nice Ramen place 2 blocks away from the JR train station to make our lives easier. The Ramen place was run by two grannies, and the food was awesome. We found Menga in their ramen shop. - The kind lady at the Kamifurano train station patiently showed us how to calculate train fares, how to order for 1 adult and 2 children. When we went to the wrong platform 2 hours later for our train to Furano, she noticed and came to direct us to the right platform.

Stay in Kami-furano for fast access to the Tokachi Mountain...

Stay in Kami-furano for fast access to the Tokachi Mountain Range in Daisetsuzan National Park, whether for hiking or for backcountry skiing or snowboarding. The town also has a good selection of restaurants; we only tried one during our stay, but it was excellent and reasonably priced.

We like the log home which is very cosy and spacious.

We like the log home which is very cosy and spacious. Our kids are very enjoy the snow outside the house. We skipped one itiernary to stay more hours there. We would like to come back here again soon. We cooked dinner and breakfast which everyone are so happy. Hope to stay more nights!!!

We spent a day in Furano during their summer.

We spent a day in Furano during their summer. It was a lovely place and the must visit attraction was the Farm Tomita lavender fields and trying their lavender soft serve ice cream. If you are travelling independently (not on a tour group) then try to get there early before the bus load of crowd. If you love cheese then make a trip to the Furano Cheese Factory. Their cheesecakes are delicious. You can also buy pizza there, if you are craving for some Italian food.

It was end of November we stayed in the area of Kamifurano. The first snow of the season just dropped It is a wonderful area if you want to go into the mountains. It has open air onsen, hotel onsen and plenty of restaurants and coffee bars. Two we want mention, as they were exceding expectations. Kaneko coffebeans and Furano Cafe. Worth a visit!!

To properly enjoy Furano you need to get out of the small but pleasant town. Unfortunately we had rainy weather with low clouds so we only saw the beautiful mountain scenery briefly. Fine sunny weather is hard to organise!
