One of the hidden gems of Sri Lanka! This beautiful hotel is set around a serene lake, with stunning views from the room overlooking water lilies, palm trees, and grazing buffalo. The rooms are stylishly decorated, spacious, and impeccably clean. The breakfast is fantastic, with something for everyone. Madu, the manager, is incredibly approachable and goes above and beyond to make everything possible. A truly amazing stay!

Clean and very spacious rooms. Stunning view towards the rice paddies and lake. Lovely pool to refresh and relax. The host family could not be more welcoming, they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Dinner and breakfast were very, very delicious!! We would have loved to stay much longer. Thank you everyone for being so kind to us, we'll come back some day. Also you can back your Safari here. The host Janaka organizes the trips himself and has the best drivers. We saw 2 Leopards with his diver Damith and were very happy with how he guided us through the Safari!

This is the perfect spot to unwind before and after a safari adventure. The location is stunning, with the serene Debarawewa Lake right in front, offering a chance to spot plenty of water birds and even a few crocodiles from a safe distance. The resort staff was incredibly helpful - they arranged a jeep to share for the safari, making it much more affordable. The shared safari option also gave us the chance to connect with other travelers, which was a lovely bonus. The rooms were comfortable, and I loved the cozy communal area in front of them. It’s a great space to relax, exchange safari stories, and chat with fellow adventurers about travel experiences. The atmosphere here is friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you're planning a trip to Yala, I highly recommend this place for its comfort, location, and the overall experience it offers. I’d happily stay here again!

Black Panther is the reason I like to stay in well run family hotels. Exceptional service! I’m not exaggerating. We stayed at a 5star hotel in Ella prior for 2nights and the service provided by the owner Nalin is comparable or better as he will personally cater to your needs as requested. The place is clean, the room we stayed in was a good size, had a clean comfortable bed, shower has hot water, good air conditioning kept room at perfect temp, and strong WiFi throughout the whole property. Food prepared by Nalin and his wife is delicious. Also the hotel is located close to Debarawewa lake which is full of birds and saw several crocodiles along the edge of the lake. Tissa lake with even more birds and fruit bats is a short tuk tuk ride away which the host can arrange. Great communication via Whatsup before arrival. Host can arrange transportation from Ella or Mirissa for a fair price as well.

We loved our 2 nights stay here! The property is lovely and just as pictured. The room was spacious and clean. The staff organized the safari trip for us and after a half day safari we were able to enjoy the facilities at the resort. They have an amazing pool, archery corner, basketball court and even a mini golf court. The staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating and lovely. The food was also really great and they were willing to adjust them to our dietary requirements. Big shoutout to Upul who was just lovely, on the day of us checking out he was so kind to surprise us with breakfast to go as he didn’t want us leaving the property without food!

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

The Leopard trails at Yala is a luxurious camp style resort on shores of a lake. We stayed in Deluxe tent with private pool and it was fabulous. The tent had total privacy. The room was huge and the bathroom was modern. The patio facing the lake was very private and great for just lazing around. The plunge pool was small but very nice on a hot afternoon. The room amenities were also good. The camp dinner and breakfast were good but not exceptional. We did 2 safari treks with our guide and naturalist Mr. Nolan. He was very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information on the park, and its flora and fauna. It was his astute insight on the location in the park that we were able to see 2 leopards (a mating pair). A very rare sight, It was the highlight of our trip. In addition to leopards, we also saw crocodiles, deer, elephants (up close!), wild buffalos and a wide variety of exotic birds. This is a very well kept National Park and a must visit in Sri Lanka.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Stay – Unmatched Hospitality! I have never felt so well taken care of as I did at Wild Coast Lodge. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Every team member remembered my food allergies across all three meals, ensuring I could dine worry-free. Their attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. Beyond that, they even provided fresh aloe vera for our sunburns a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about their level of service. The entire experience was luxurious, personalized, and truly exceptional. If you’re looking for a place that combines stunning nature with five-star hospitality, this is it!

Had to give a shoutout to the staff – they were absolutely amazing! Super helpful and really know their stuff. Whether you’re planning to visit the Kataragama Dewalaya or go on a Yala safari, they’ll hook you up with the best options at very reasonable prices. They even have someone who can sort out your “Pooja watti” for you. And if you haven’t pre-ordered food, no stress – they’ll get it delivered from a nearby shop in just a few minutes. The place itself is great too – clean, spacious rooms with hot water. For the price, it’s more than worth it. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a safe, comfortable, and budget-friendly place to stay!

We loved the location of this hotel. It was beautiful. Our main purpose was to go for Safari, and this hotel is perfectly located from Yala National Park. They even packed us breakfast at 5am, so we can take it with us to Safari. We spent an afternoon at the pool, (and had it all to ourselves which was also a bonus). The food was great, and we had the buffet there. The staff were all amazing. Everyone that worked there, were quite young, but incredibly professional, polite and kind, and they all really went out of their way to help us.

The staff went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed, making our stay even more enjoyable. The safari was fantastic, and we were incredibly fortunate to spot both a leopard and a sloth bear! The pool is clean and has complete privacy with no unwanted person roaming around. Food was good, tasty and cooked fresh. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating. They even arranged a place for me to prepare my fruit basket prior to visiting the shrine. I'm did not have to bother about my vehicle as it was parked right near my assigned room. The drive to the entrance of the shrine was less than 5 minutes on the main road.

The room and food was fine.

The room and food was fine. But the reception staff included my booking with another member and put me as a no show!!!. When I did the check out i was quoted a higher price than agreed. An amount of $356 instead of original $303. When i questioned, the reception staff put the blame on us and made the other member pay $356 under her booking. Now I have to pay the higher price of $356 to the other member in our group. I don't know why there was a mixup when I gave my passport when checking in and my name was matched. I would appreciate if i am refunded US$53 (356 - 303). Thank you, Nagaratnam Nandakumar 647 545 6842 [email protected]

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

Off the beaten path and immersed in nature, a great place to escape the crowded Sri Lanka cities. It's very easy to stop here when you are coming from the mountains or the beach because it's precisely in the middle. The temperature year round is very pleasant and not as hot as the beach or as cold as the mountains. Locals are happy to see you and you won't get harassed by salespeople. It's a small town which offers a great market, lots of fruits and even a few restaurants with local prices everywhere. Go into the village and find accomodations nearby the national park border to really see a lot of wildlife. The place is known to have elephants, monkeys, frogs, peacocks, giant squirrels, and so many beautiful birds. We stayed just one day but I think at least 2 days would be better if you enjoy a peaceful retreat feel nearby nature with little distraction. This town is much more pleasant to walk around then Tissamaharama and has a relaxed atmosphere. Stop by and get a different experience in Tanamalwila.

It is a holy place visited by Buddhists and Hindus alike. Some Muslims also visit a mosque located in the sacred area. Buddhist usually visit the Kiri Vehera area first and then come to the Devale premises. There are circular roads to facilitate that sequence. Otherwise, one can walk to the Devale premises and then proceed to the Kiri Vehera premises. There are lot of boutiques selling various items including offerings for Devale. They are located in the town area. After that one has to cross a small bridge over the Menik River to enter the sacred area. Over the years both sides of the river have been re-organized for a better sequential experience.

We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. The restaurants,Roof bar,Spa's and the pool side and pool is world class with out doubt! The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to the Super Proactive General Manager Mr Krishanta Damunupola and his team members to include Mr Seeman and Miss Sandani(Intern) for being so accommodating at all times with oodles of dedication. We also especially liked the super-comfy room with the balcony, bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night.
